Introducing Aylee (stable thread, image heavy)

Unread post by Quiv »

This is Aylee, daughter of Rendir and Salaina.

Image

She is the embodiment of a Survival hunter: adventurous and highly resilient, tenacious with surprising ingenuity, strikingly beautiful yet unnervingly deadly. She is obstinate and independent, dark but with a heard of gold.

Image

Her journeys caused her to come across many beasts that touched her. Some appealed for her love of the unknown and exotic (not in-game), other animals pulled on her heart strings (the overlooked, damaged, discarded ones). This is her stable, and a glimpse into the infinitely complex world of Aylee.

Here is her pet gray bear, Ode. She grew up with Ode, he was the offspring of a white bear (belonging to her father) and black bear (her mother), and was born soon after Aylee.

Image

A diseased wolf Aylee felt great pity for. Discarded and left to die, Aylee comforted the beast, nursed it to health. Its scars only serve as a reminder of their bond.

Image

The deep and brooding colors displayed on this macaw struck a chord with Aylee. It's beauty may not be apparent to most, but Aylee sees it. She longs to know the freedom it does.

Image

This raptor and hyena were overlooked and disregarded by most, but Aylee felt close attachment to them.

Image

Aylee was mesmerized by the gorgeous skin of this serpent.

Image

Ravagers are exotic and beautiful creatures from another world that immediately captured Aylee's fascination. This first ravager is one a young Aylee found on a dangerous solo trip to Azuremyst. The others are species she found in her trip to Outland to aid in the rebuilding efforts.

Image

Aylee grew up around her mother's pet widow. When she rescued her own bone spider from the tainted forests of Blasted Lands, she wanted to let it play with spiders, especially the widows of Tirisfal.

Image

Aylee loves beetles. Their colors are so brilliant, and yet they are so hardy and loyal.

Image

Aylee fell in love with the felboars of outland. They may not be the prettiest beasts, but they are fierce and loyal.

Image

In this snap, Aylee has just showed up in Zangarmarsh to do a conservation rotation with the druids. Her mother's cat followed her into Outland, and stood by her side as a trusted and familiar friend in a strange world. The animal didn't know what to think of the wind rider cub Aylee had been given to raise, though. (this pic is inspired by a screenshot Gigandetsgirl's posted here)

Image

Aylee found this beautiful moth in Azuremyst on one of her many trips there. She found it looked at home in Zangarmarsh.

Image

Here Aylee is sitting in quiet reverence, bonding with the spirits of dear pets long past.

Image

Here Aylee is with Lorn, bat, and Lohth, dog. These were the pets that belonged to her Forsaken friend before he was killed in a Scourge attack. Once a survival hunter himself, and now Aylee's mentor, Skaggs found he lost his connection with the beasts upon being raised undead. Aylee found the beasts and befriended them, so now Skaggs knows his beloved pets are being taken care of, and hopefully one day have them in his life again.

Image

Of all the creatures Aylee has bonded with, these two wasps are the closest to her heart. If any creature embodies her spirit, it is these.

Beautiful pictures, wonderful story. One feels one gets to know Aylee through this, just a little.

Oh, I cannot believe I missed this. All of it is absolutely beautiful, Quiv - the pets speak a thousand words for Aylee's spirit. I love how she is able to see the inner beauty of things. It makes it even more special since she is part blood elf, and they are so often stereotyped into being vain and self-centered. I absolutely love all of her pets, and Aylee herself
