And then I passed Deth on my Warrior, alive and well, with a Dwarf Hunter attempting the tame. I tried to help him out on my Warrior, but Deth kept pushing through and killing the guy. So I switched to my own Hunter, thinking "Why the hell not?".
That's when it hit me that she was in Stormwind. Crap! So I ported, taxied, and flew as fast as I could. Deth was still up and untagged, so I went in for my shot. From being out of practice, my form was sloppy as hell and I JUST managed to make a sharp turn kiting Deth to avoid sending him down to where the daily mobs were, a path that would probably have lead to his death because of a random griefer.
Suddenly, I noticed another set of Concussive Shots and Frost Traps going off. "Oh Crap!" I thought. "Someone's trying to take him from me!"
But low and behold, the Light smiled upon me and the four tears in my bag. Just as Deth's HP dropped to the safe tame level, the Dwarf shouted "NOW!" and I smashed my tame macro. Never before had a crawling spider seemed so big and fearsome to me.
At the last possible second, the spider shrunk and my Draenei flopped over dead. Panicking, I clicked on Call Pet and saw the beautiful spider, nameless and mine.
I came back to Deth's spawn point and thanked the Hunter for allowing me the tame and shared my bad luck with getting the beast. He said it was no problem, since his main had the spider already. But amid a seemingly endless sea of griefers, I couldn't thank him enough for not doing something mean.

(damn, that picture turned out really good!)
Back when this hunt started, I said I'd name Deth "EpicMealTime" after an unusual internet cooking show I like, but after all of this I figured he deserved to keep his name. I don't usually do that because of how it looks to others using NPC scan, but I've grown fond of his real name and wish him nothing else in its place.
