The panther cub does ask you to become his new mommy. Very sweet just couldn't leave him behind after that.

The lashtail hatchling is available in the re-vamped ZG, if you've done the questline.

You can rescue your little buddy near Bloodlord Mandokir :)

they said that the 100 and 125 would not be rewarding pets because at some point in the future they would like to have a 200 pet achievement! (which seems a little weird to jump from 125 to 200 but that's the number they tossed out there >_>)
