Notes about some of its abilities

Stepping into lava refills its energy bar
Frost and Ice trap cools it lowering its Energy
if it reaches 0 energy its instantly dies (see below)
immune to being tamed until it's energy is low (i dont know the number proly 20 or so)
concussive shot works
wing clip works
hits for around 24k

attempt #1 failure. see below for #2. Respawn was around 26 hours on PTR

what happens when u get to 0 energy i was just starting the tame so you;ll proly have to break it out of any ice trap as soon as its able to be tamed

i dropped a ice trap down here and waited til it was off cooldown again before pulling him.


use ice traps to get his energy down to 20 but them break him out of it else he could died, which happened last time
conc shot him and tame.


Red spider same skin as the comon spiders in the east

how fast does its energy drop maybe corehound hero plus potion of speed plus haste flask maybe enough

it doesnt drop very fast I had to kite it between my frost trap coming off cooldowns. I think the trap that killed it was my 4th one and he died after just a couple seconds of me being able to tame him. each trap was proly around 25 energy but i only got a few tries before he died so I cant be 100% on it.

Wow; talk about challenges! I'm guessing that this will be one of the more challenging tames?

I wonder if Skitterflame is (or will be) immune to non-hunter roots/stuns/incapacitates?

Very cool! The poor thing, giving a Crystalline Tear of Loyalty if you accidentally kill it. The poor thing. Do you know of the spawn timer for this beast of a spider yet? Or is it too early to tell?

Hmm... Two spiders, two cats. Maybe two owls as well? Dunno if this is pattern or coincedence, but that is one pretty spider!

maybe just before the energy is low enough to tame it u can wing clip(since that lasts for 10 seconds), break it from the trap so it doesnt die, disengauge and then have enough distance to tame or if he does reach u u will have enough hp to take a couple hits just before the tame completes


I dont know what the spawn timer is although i did NOT have daily quests on that island, I rode around the furnace area and went up there just to check if something was up there. so it definately is not quest related.

well my idea is simple freezing trap 4 times wing clip disengage and win tame

An 'Obsidian' Loque would go along with the idea of fire and volcanoes...

So... Isn't that skin on common mobs in the area, too? That's a major letdown, but I love the taming method. Challenge indeed!
