I hope the tallstrider mount model isn't finished yet. I love tallstriders like crazy, but their models are so painfully 2004. Throw a saddle on them at least!

The Ghosts of Darkmoon Island


Okay, so have any of you guys been noticing the random sparkles around the island? Like this?


Well, if you die and wander around the island, you'll find out that those sparkles are actually ghosts! In total I have found six.

The first I found on the West side of the island, and is a human male named Brenden Paulson.

What he says:
"I ran away from my home in Strom after my father tried to kill me."
"I remember telling Silas, "I never want to see my family again."
"For most of my life the faire has been my home."
"I joined the faire as a child..."
"My life before the faire was hard. I never missed it, or my family."
"I joined the faire to escape my family."


The second I found on the east side of the island, and she is a blood elf female named Sithera Wellspun.

What she says:
"When I woke up, I couldn't find my way back to the campsite..."
"I was supposed to get fireword for the campsite..." Yes, the typo is actually in the game.
"I have such a hard time gathering firewood..."


After finding the first two, I covered every part of the island I could. I eventually stumbled upon a female Tauren named Arlon Surehoof.

What she says:
"These woods are dangerous. A lesson I learned the hard way."
"I am to keep a close watch over the camp."
"I don't know how long I've been watching over the camp..."
"Even death will not keep me from my duty to watch over the camp..."


After Arlon, I found a male Goblin named Kupp Coincare.

What he says:
"My debt was almost repaid. No one was going to miss those last gold coins..."
"I didn't think anyone would mind if I didn't stay to help runt he faire."
"Most of my debt was repaid... I think..."
"Silas was able to repay most of my debt as long as I worked at the faire."


Then I bumped into a male Troll named Zazla.

What he says:
"I barely survived the shipwreck..."
"Silas kept me safe from my previous captors..."
"I saw my captors die horrible deaths. And I laughed."
"The faire kept me from an execution. It saved my life."


Finally, I found a second male human, which I did not expect, named Franklin Jenner.

What he says:
"So many have died at my hands. I just wanted to escape those horrors."
"I was promised I would never have to encounter the horrors of war at the faire."
"The war against the orcs, there seems to be no respite."


Ghost Locations:



Now, what's REALLY interesting...
If you go to a certain area, you'll find a tree with a bunch of cages around it. Inside each cage is one skeleton. 5 cages hang in the tree, and one sits at the base of the tree. 6 cages, 6 ghosts. Coincidence?


And then there's that cannibalistic vendor not too far away...

I'm currently looking for more things, but here are some more ghosts. You can see these while alive but you cant target them. Kalli brought to my attention that if you track undead you can see them on your mini map, so I did so and found one myself.



So yeah... this is a creepy as island. I'm going to have some trouble sleeping tonight, rofl.

HA, I'm not crazy! I just didn't see the haunt anywhere when I looked (I even checked up). That's awesome!

Those ghosts are really cool! I love the whole ambiance they have for this island...it's safe and cozy in the Faire, sure, but if you wander..

So I gotta ask, what server are the PTRtopians on this time around anyway? I don't think there was ever a clear answer. >:

The 'Scourge Haunt' is the spirit that you get when you are using the old necklace from the Scourge event. It might be someone who's walking around with one of those in their inventory.

The other ghosts, mind you... yeah. *Those* are new! And awesmoe! ... and *creepy*! :O

Kurasu, when I saw the first one, no one else was around me and I don't carry mine.

OMG, Breanni!!! She spawns in the pony/ram pen, apparently!



Sitting around with her for a while, she said the following phrases:
"Look at all these adorable animals!"
"If only I had more room in my store, I'd take you all with me to Dalaran!"
"Oh... So cute!"
"Wonderful!"

So cuuuute! .....okay, I totally wrote that before Breanni said it. -_- Edited it in! xD

Yeah, same as Kalli, there was no one else around me (I was tracking everything) and after a while it despawned.

Alright, I finished up my DMI Ghosts post. Added a map of locations, all the things each ghost says, and an interesting observation...

Oh man, that makes PERFECT SENSE! That's so creepy! But it all fits together...!
