Titles says it all. Just a small update, but I just logged onto the ptr and pulled out my hydra and she has seemed to have lost her constant "head fighting" noises, but still lets one out every now and then. She still does the animation as often, she just keeps most her rawr'ing on the inside now.

Hee! I like that; rawring on the inside. :)

Hopefully this sort of fine-tuning is a good sign. Means they haven't been forgotten about, at the very least. :D

it -might- be a sign to come but it might also be a tweak to make those who did tame them happy ;3 -still hoping tho its the former-

I'll take it as a positive sign. ^^ Their noises have never bothered me, but they're definitely frequent and delaying the time between them seems logical if they were to become pets everywhere.

I am thinking though that there really isnt enough of those ghost hydras everywhere to make them warrant having to take the extra time to do this unless they plan on making the untameable, tameable ^.^

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! not ANOTHER nerf...

when we first tamed them, yeah they were super loud and annoying. they got their sound nerfed a bit. THEN they lost their corehound stomp stomp stomp, NOW they barely make any noise.

on the ptr i had to crank my speakers way up to even hear it, and its not even the same sound as on live.

Has anyone checked if cats still yawn seemingly every 10 seconds? Or have they toned that down too? :)

 i released Rak'shiri when i fiiiiiiinally lvled up to his lvl when he was still 57 cause he would CONSTANTLY shake his head and his ears would make a wiggly noise and his awful yawning, i actually named him Yawn cause when i tamed him he yawned maybe half a dozen times in just a few minutes after taming... i just couldnt stand it, i didnt use cats at all for the longest time both saber and the normal cause both would yawn

Its kind of like how the undead females never stop looking around. I love my little warlock Rem but when she mounts up her head nenver stops moving. x.X I love hydras but the constant hissing/fighting was a bit annoying so not only do I welcome the toning down of all the noise- I take it as a good sign. :)

its prolly not a whole lot of work but the point is, with only a handful of hydra pets out there.. why now and whats the point unless they wanna use it elsewhere.

every happy subscriber means money in their pockets, to do something so minor to keep the few hundred people in WoW that has one and still plays really makes a big difference

Hydras probably will become tamable in the not-too distant future - very possibly prior to 5.0. This plus the "untamable" tag may mean Santa Noah's got a nifty new pet for good girls & boys... ;)

If Greatfather Winter does give all the good little hunter boys and girls this Christmas present, I can tell you there with me a metric butt ton of stables being cleaned out to make way for the Hydra pets. But this is all a very big "IF".

I am very glad to hear this. I originally released my hydra because of all the noise it made (drove me nuts), until someone posted the "Cat Yawn Silencer" topic under the Pet Discussion forums for the cat yawns a while back.
I got my hydra restored as soon as I saw that thread and used it not only to nix the cat yawn, but the hydra noise as well. If it does it a lot less next patch, maybe I'll restore it's sound.

For those with Hydras that want to do the same:
viewtopic.php?f=3&t=6670&hilit=crowd+silencer

I can't remember what to rename the file to for the Hydra, but when I get home from work this evening I can edit this post with the name if anyone wants it.

Have you gotten the cat yawn silencer? I use that together with Sniff-B-Gon and eliminate two of the most annoying sounds in the game right there.
