I didn't screenshot mine but I got 2nd and 1st place :) It's a lot of fun for a mini holiday and inspired me to change my mog (and pets!) for a while.

Wow there's some beautiful transmogs there.

I did end up doing it and having fun.

One thing I noticed, however, is that in many groups (I'd say at least 50%) I was in people seemed to be trying to game it and vote strategically, i.e. people that really stood out often didn't win, but someone with a rougher, less well-balanced or matched set did. Basically, a number of people seemed to be voting against their chief competition.

A friend and I tested this after he had noticed it. I joined him in the trial and deliberately made crap transmogs, things that showed no effort or care, and I still got a lot of third places, even second once or twice. People must have been voting for me to take votes away from better transmogs.

It certainly wasn't always the case and I did see some great transmogs win. Obviously the winning outfits posted here are all really great.

Really, I think they need to match trial groups with a different trial group and have each group vote on the other's so that there's no personal stake in the voting.

100% true, I talked to several people about this and we all admitted to voting against an obvious winner because "otherwise the rest of us stand no chance." If you want to increase your odds of winning in a random group, you'll get the best results if you 1) follow the theme, at least somewhat 2) have a good but not perfect tmog 3) play a female NE or BE and put on at least one sexy item (just being real... I only saw elves getting votes).

I love the idea of having other groups vote on your group because it does take out that element of "I don't want to vote for that obvious winner." Actually I'd like to take it a step further and make it so that you can fully deck out a model rather than your own toon, so you can make it "prettier" to garner more votes (if you choose).

I'd love to see that. Or a free-form category where you can use all armour types and have access to the entire transmog catalog and not just the pieces you own. Let people go all out :) They wouldn't have to change the entire competition, just have that as a potential category.

I managed to get firsts on my male Draenei and Troll (the latter was a real surprise as I had VERY little cloth transmog!) But yeah, some groups were obviously voting more for "sexy" female toons, especially elves.

I guess it's easy for me to say since the character I won on most (because I queued on her most) is a female NE, but I didn't see that much of an elf bias. My female dwarf was the only one of the four I queued on that didn't get at least one first place win before she got enough tokens for the armor set, but she did place a couple times.

I wish there was a bank or a tabard/shirt vendor in the arena, for people who haven't cottoned to wearing both all the time and then just hiding them yet. "It's my alt" is no excuse, Séffîrøth227! YOU QUEUE FOR TRANSMOG, YOU DIE FOR TRANSMOG!

I liked it, but didn't feel 2 1/2 minutes was enough time. Granted I didn't preplan outfits. I wish they would consider increasing the time limit a minute or so, but have some sort of "ready check" that will start the voting if everyone hits it before time is up. I get that this is intended to be a pretty quick "in and out" thing though. No one wants to wait around on that one AFK person.

Once I got all the rewards, I didn't do it again though. I was hoping I'd get some inspiration, but apparently the folk I was paired with aren't as creative as this group. ;)

I'm just glad transmog and barber shop is free during it!

Well I had a great time!
Except for last night. Last night I was trying to get the plate set on my Warrior, and a priest kept using his 'Swap' skill on me while I was transmogging. Joke's on him though, I still managed to get my transmog in before time was up and no one voted for him, despite how nice his mog was.

Wish this event came back at least twice a year instead of once a year! I really had fun :>

Siggy under construction!

Yeah, I really waffled over whether I should've preplanned outfits for every theme or not due to the time constraints. I ended up not doing that because spontaneous did feel a little more fun to me. But even with my one winning look, I ran out of time and got stuck with my default weapon mog (which did happen to match well enough).

And free transmogs have been great! I've transmogged outfits for even my lowbie alts because why not?

Tired a couple of more times with the Trial of Style before it's done. Managed to get a 1st place win with this outfit. The theme was "faction pride".

Trial of Style is apparently back on...odd time too since many only have a limited amount of new gear to transmog from this very recent expansion...

Looks like they're not offering any new transmogs to buy. Disappointed!

Very disappointed. :/ We only get this event a couple times a year and there are plenty of unused/removed appearances they could use as rewards.

Actually, this time I'm kinda happy there's nothing new. There's too much to do right now, so this is one thing I can ignore ;)

Or rather, I'm just trying to look on the bright side. Realistically, it's very easy to get the Trial of Style sets for each armour type and wouldn't have taken much time at all. But now I won't have to.

I'm glad there is nothing new, so I don't feel pressured to login for it.

Btw, the sets they have there for purchase are pretty ugly, I mean- they're all questing greens or greys from previous expansions.
None of them are worth buying imo unless you are a completionist. Who would possibly transmog that anyway?

And that's a shame, considering the many great looking items that are in the game but not available to players
