Legendary Ideas

With the addition of Fangs of the Father and Tarecgosa's Rest, I can't help but think there might be a legendary for Hunters in MoP. So what are some Ideas? Fangs of Father gives you wings and Tarecgosa changes you into a dragon what do you think a hunter legendary might bring to it?
Personally I think it will be a bow or gun with a hunter themed quest line (similar to the Fangs of Father where only hunters can complete). I think we will be able to summon a temporary extra pet who's model will also be used as a mount, or have a transformation into a winged beast. What are some other neat ideas to what Blizz can bring to a hunter legendary?

There was a thread on MMO kinda going on about this, except it was a legendary pet. Altho I don't approve of a legendary pet (the only pet one would use basically), there was a notion thrown out that a legendary bow could have a buff it threw on your pet to make it look...legendary or something lol. Kinda like the druid fire cat thing. Other than that, I never really had much thought about legendaries, tho they are getting more interesting lately.

I'm not too big on another hunter legendary so soon. We already have one and, once Mists comes out, will be the only people able to use it again. I'd much rather see a shield, personally. :]

If I have to brainstorm for hunters though, I don't really want something that only changes our pet. It seems like a heavily BM-centric effect for a legendary to be used by three specs - and survival and MM hunters are just as important even if they don't rely on pets as much. That said, I'm not really sure what the effect would be. I'd want it to be a gun, though. We already have a bow, and I can't get away from crossbows this expansion to save my life.

Oooh, that's a really interesting idea. I like the thought of correlating our pet into it, but I agree that some unique legendary pet is not the route to go (then everyone would be forced into using it). Even just an aesthetic, some sort of special glow or shadow or something applied to whichever pet you had active would be really cool.

Yeah I agree the unique legendary pet is not the way to go as Nubhorns said it feels like it's heavly BM themed and if it's a hunter wep it should fit in with all specs. I say a gun we don't have a gun we have a bow and I think 2 bows would be silly.

How about a gun that starts first as a single shot with a nice haste bonus. Once you get the next part of the quest you get a proc that lets it go from a shotgun to a tommy gun for a short 5 seconds. Then when you get the final component.....http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g2wD5TaMf2k

What I was saying is it only changed the pet visually. It would be a legendary weapon bow/crossbow/gun, with just an extra goodie like that druid staff that turns cat form into fire cat form. Obviously not all druids benefit from it, like the tank ones, but it's still just a neat lil extra thing.

I really hope it's not a gun tho, hate listening to it and most guns don't look good.

We need an epic gun. We've had daggers, staves, swords, bows, and more. All but guns.

That being said, we'll likely have 2 chances at a legendary in Pandaclysm. Given the Blizz discussion about tanking legendaries, it's hard to tell what they will do. On one side, they said they would not give tanks a legendary, since that was too specific. Then they turn around and give one that's only for rogues.

So if I had to guess, Monks will see a monk-only legendary, since that's the way Blizz rolls now. And if there's some other class that's underepresented, they'll see a class-only legendary as well.

So we all need to quit our hunters, and they'll give us a legendary...

I agree, though; I'd prefer to see another underrepresented group get a legendary first.

I like the idea of a shield/2h option for the various tanking classes.
