Not raining on anyones parade. If I was, I'd be damning them for wanting them tameable, which I'm not. XD Clearly. Just stating my views on it, nothing more. I'd rather more spirit beasts (and every hunter I know has tamed the spirit beasts atleast once...all of them. So no its not really a handful. It's much more than that) or update the older beast models.

And I am. The worms we have atleast look useful. XD The silkworms....don't. Porcupines can go either way....they atleast got the spines going for them.

I'm not gonna be pissed if they remain tameable. It's not a big deal. It may grow on me eventually but at this current time, I don't see myself getting one.

Im sorta getting bored of spirit beasts.. unless they finally come out with a new model that isnt a ghost. Its just.. getting tiresome.. especially because they're the last pet skin in the game that everyone goes shiat friacking crazy over to the point of bloodshed (from personal experience of seeing people react to a spirit beast that spawned or was found already spawned). Its like that saying of people beating a dead horse, thats what spirit beasts feel to me. I now wait till the craze is dead so i dont go into my own bloodlust over them.

Well, it surprised me too :) The caterpillar part that is. I was already pretty sure porcupines would make it in.

Caterpillars, like all larvae, are basically big dumb sacs of undifferentiated goo with mouths and legs. Their entire purpose in life is to eat so they can then metamorphose into something more functional. Ok, I'm probably oversimplifying there but that's the general idea.

But hey, this is a magical world. I'm just stating the above as the reason I was surprised they decided to keep them :) If we have them then there's no reason not to have maggots as well.

I still think they should be in the Moth family they are baby ones after all.

Ooooh, if silkworms go with worms, imagine them burrowing! *giggles* WEE FEET BURROWING!

(Sure, I wasn't expecting them to make the cut, but I'm going to enjoy accepting them. ;) )

(P.S. THIS requires Spiritbinder's services. ;) )

Except the family has to be as much about functionality as relationship. In the case of insects, their larvae are so different to the adult forms they couldn't really function the same way. They can't fly and they can't sprinkle magic fairy dust (or whatever it is) from their wings like moths do ;)

True, but they also share a model with various other belly crawlers such as maggots and jormungar tunnelers, so this will make it more likely that at least some of those other species could be made tamable at some point, even if it doesn't happen during beta.

After all that's how silk worms and porcupines got the nod from GC in the first place - an accident that proved so popular they decided to run with it. :)

I have no intention of taming either of them myself, but I love the porcupines, and I think the silkworms are a harmless addition for those who want them. :) More variety never hurts! Yay choices. :D

I kinda agree. Its not the ghost/spirit theme that tires me, its getting the same archetype over and over. :\ I feel like if I see another cat... *mumbles bad things*. I'd be all for a spirit beast if they added one as that raptor they were supposed to add in Cata. They got my hopes up SO much, only to let me down. :( Ooooor! Spirit hydra! :D Someone had to say it.

I always thought SB was a woman? I'm not sure why I thought that.....

Either way, I, for one, do want to see a pic of a caterpillar shooting sparkles out of its butt. That would be hilarious and awesome. :D

That IS good news. I'd really really like a Yak...aren't they on the same skeleton?
Yaks actually use the shoveltusk skeleton. :)
Which reminds me...
