Aspect of The Cheetah
When this aspect is activated, your movement speed would gradually build up by 30% while moving in 5 seconds. If you stop, or run for more than 20 seconds, the movement speed would gradually revert back in 5 seconds.

Yes or No? I'm basing this idea of cheetahs irl have to build momentum to build up speed and the burst of speed only last for few seconds.

I like it as it is, with the glyph added I'm pretty satisfied. Speed buff + lack of daze, yum.

It shouldn't need to be glyphed to be able to use it in pvp competitively.

Why not? It's basically a pvp glyph.

The aspect itself shouldn't need a glyph to be useful.

It is useful. If you're not getting hit, then it can be extremely effective. Given, it takes a great deal of skill to manage that, but there are some very talented hunters who have managed it in the past.

From my experience, getting dazed is not useful. Building up speed and using it at appropriate time is skill, being dazed isn't.

If you're using it at the appropriate time, you're not getting dazed. :)

Basically she's saying you have to pop between aspects at the right times. :)

Yup. If you use it right, you can use it effectively without the glyph. Glyph just makes it easier in case you make a misstep.

I've always viewed AotC/AofP akin to druid and shammy travel forms. However unlike druid/shammy travel forms hunters are penalized for using AotC/AotP when struck. I'd rather see the daze effect removed to make it more blanaced with the other "perma"-speed boost spells. As far as I know hunters are the ONLY class who's speed bonus has a negative effect.

I dont want to have to "glyph" into something that should have been "fixed" a long time ago.

If they are worried about a class being faster then others and still able to keep attacking, why dont they just make everything but auto-attack grayed out while the aspect is active? (druids/shammy's can auto-attack in travel but nothing else-attack wise)

As for AotP, when it is on a party/raid member and that member attacks, the "speed buff" is removed, rather then causing the daze. And/or have it so that people can actually remove the "buff".

It's an aura akin to paladin auras, so if we can't click those off... :P Although the daze has been a uniquely annoying aspect of it, at least it's annoying enough that someone will remind you to turn it off before charging into a boss battle...or at least within the first few seconds.

its more the effect of the apsect thats more closely related ot a travel form then it is to an aura.

The daze itself has been annoying to the point that groups will actually remove hunters from the party if they do not remove the aspect, that alone should be enough to get blizzard moving on fixing the issue.

Or....the hunter could turn off the aspect and stop griefing the group. :?

The speed buff is the only thing like a travel form. The effect itself, and how it's applied, is an aura. It's actually closer to Crusader Aura than a travel form, imo...although, since it's not a mount buff and can be turned on in places where mounts can't go (aka a boss room), it has to have a downside for using it in said boss room.

LOL I really feel pity for hunters with Stockholm syndrome. I remembered when I suggested in petopia for hunter to lose minimum range a few years ago, petopians viciously attacked me because saying that outdated mechanic whats make hunter unique, sating if I can't handle it, meaning the hunter class isn;t for me. But now when it's gone I don;t see them jumping wanting it back.

It's ok for not having a really really really back drawback from a skill which is dazed. It shouldn't need a glyph to make it useful,

Having the cheetah aspect up already a penalty to hunter; the lost of dps from hawk, That itself a penalty, Disabling any forns of attack while in cheetah is for me the best way to fix cheetah,

If there is no glyph needed for cheetah to be free of daze, then blizzard can make an awesomer glyph for cheetah ex; Glyph of trailblaze; while cheetah is active, a wake of fiery trail would follow you from the ground causing x% damage. Each patch of fire last for 3 seconds.

NOW THAT WOULD BE AN AWESOME GLYPH!

Glyph of Flowers. A trail of flowers bloom in your wake. The glyph would beacons beast and critters to eat them lol. Or maybe this is an aesthetic glyph with no effect.

Honestly, I would hate it if Cheetah just became another travelform or a more complicated version of sprint (which is what the proposal in the OP basically is). Right now hunters are the only class that can move at high speed and still fight with full capacity and I like that a lot. To me that's basically the whole point of the ability. Would I prefer it if the dazed effect was removed without the need of a glyph? Yes, of course. But I still prefer the current form over the complete overhauls suggested in this thread.

/Agreed in full

During APTC we can travel at speed with FULL capabilities, amazing for kiting if you know what you doing. To make it a "travel" form would just make it just that, Travel form with no utility. Is the daze component a pain in the ass? sure when you get hit, but its the trade off of us having unique, interesting and at times a more challenging ability compared to others. The fact that now we can choose to glyph the daze away is a nice way of blizzard letting those who really HATE the daze component or struggle with toggling aspects have it easier.... at the cost of a glyph.
