MoP pets better than Cata rares?

Let's put all "waiting on rare spawn" times out of the window for a second, and just pets in general.

For example, would you get the Dragon turtles over Terrorpene?

Or the new Tigers over Sambas?

Yes to both. I am huge fan of the new turtles, and am not a fan of Sambas at all. I think Terror was very well made, but he just doesn't compare to the dragonturtles imo. And Sambas... Don't even get me started, I hate the model, I think it's very ugly.

I think it'll all come down to individual preference.

I'm certainly evolving my Terrorpene into a Dragon Turtle, for instance. The rare aspect doesn't hold as much weight for me as the appearance of the pet itself. If I love the model I'll tame it whether it's rare or common. I'm completely in love with the dragon turtle models, so I'll be changing my Iggy into one.

I vastly prefer the new tigers to Sambas, but that's just because I'm not fond of his large mane. I've never had Sambas tamed since he doesn't appeal to me, but the new black tiger is on my pickup list.

While i do like the new tigers ill stick with good old sabre cats.
Sambas never appealed to me cause he got the "jacking hairgell" syndrom. I dont mind him at all just..not my fav.

For dragon turtles vs terror. i was never a big fan of turtles so i wont get anny, but if id have to chose i think id go with Terrorpene.

sadly Cata had alot of reskins of older rare models (spirit cats im looking at you guys, and you spiders) but it also gave us ALOT of unused skins and some new ones too boot! Like all the wonderfull warpstalkers and cats!

I'm with them on the fathead cat, same with turtles as well but it all comes down to what you like best. :mrgreen:

I have to say, I tossed Sambas off my main awhile ago... I will be picking up the new white tiger skin (though they haven't made them tameable in beta yet, I'm sure it is just a matter of time....)

As for the turtles... I never really used them. I had Terrorpene for a good while and he just took up space, burning a hole in my stables, so I tossed him awhile ago. I prefer shale spiders as tanks in live (and in beta I am loving my spirit beast Ban'thalos tank in beta just because I love running with my sb and a tank specced one keeps me from pulling off him so much). Though I will likely get one of the dragon turtles, as I am loving the design and animation in beta.

As a personal prefrence of mine, I'm starting to prefer the MoP beasts to some of the cata rares. My Terrorpene will form into a lovely Dragon Turtle. Skarr may evolve into one of the new MoP black tiger, and Sambas may be released into the wild and I may pick up a white or silver tiger instead.

Also, if the tiger god modle becomes tamable, Magria will be updated into that

"Better?" No. More attractive, in my opinion? Yes. That said, my Terrorpene will not be morphing into a dragon turtle, no matter how much better I like the look of them. I love Alastor the way he is and that's just that. :hug:

I will be getting a dragon turtle on my turtle-less blood elf hunter, however.

If I decide to tame a turtle Im definitely going to tame on of the new ones to replace my Terropene. I prefer beetles for tanking over turtles though.
I am grabbing one of the new black tigers. I couldnt click with Sambas and I cant use my guild mount either. I just dont like the way he looks. The new tigers are going to cause a conflict in my though because I love them, but I love my current lion as well lol.

I never care whether a pet is rare or not, just whether I like it. Thus far, I've only been attracted to the completely new families (porcupines, quilen, fen striders, basilisks, goats, cranes), but after I swore up and down for the majority of Cataclysm that I couldn't stand the look of Sambas and have now realized that I love the fluffball, I can't guarantee anything. All I can say for certain is that I'm not changing any pets to new skins based on MoP. Yet.

Though honestly, I'm unlikely to. I am VERY settled on my cats, Kalliope's not going to have a turtle (....for now), and Kallimon loves Soup as she is.

I'm one of the few who will be keeping Terrorpene, I guess.

Since a Pandaren Hunter is on my To-do, she can just have the dragon turtle.

Nope...not dropping Sambas, nor is Oakh getting rid of Terrorpene. She likes Kilauea exactly as he is. It all comes down to personal preference. And while Clayburn may have argued himself a place back in my stables come MoP, I'm not adding any more of the new Pandarian tigers than the two I had already selected. The jury's still out on the green gem cat, so we'll have to see what we see there.

I must say that in general, I do prefer MoP models to Cata ones. Of course that's probably inevitable, as they have better tech now, and I mostly prefer MoP zones and artwork overall compared to Cataclysm.

I'll be keeping my pink turtle. I actually updated ol' Panzer into Terrorpene for a while, but ended up getting rid of him. The common model is just... well.. *Panzer*. I may get Terrorpene to have a DPS turtle, or I may yet fall in love with a dragon turtle, but I think that I'll always be in love with my 'gay turtle'.

As for cats, I love the model, but I'll have to see whether I actually *bond* with one. I'm not a cat person for the most part. Sambas won me over because he kept showing up for me. Andstill does, more often than expected. My Evangelion and I are grinding-partners, and I love him for that reason.

It'll be a hard sell even with the glorious new models.

I dunno, I'd still like to have a Sambas. But the new models are very promising, like Dragon Turtles, Quilen (Hells yeah for Mogucats/Mogudogs/Mogubeasts/Moguwhatever! Kinda makes up for not being able to play as a Mogu even though playable Mogu would be quite a stretch,) Water Striders, and Yaks. I'm hoping for new Serpents, though.

On a side note, I'm probably gonna like having a pet Marsh Walker... and maybe I'll pay the Outland Basilisks a visit too.

I'm still on the fence when it comes to the new turtles vs. Terrorpene, and it really depends on which, if any, 'elite' skins become tamable. I love my Sambas and I'm keeping him for the forseeable future, but one of the new tigers is very determined to claw his way into my stables.

Terrorpene,Karoma,Jadefang,Buru,Ghostcrawler,Black Madexx,Brown Madexx and Blue Madexx are being released on my main hunter to make room for MoP pets...and my back up hunter has her Mass Effect squad to deal with.I have zero problem throwing last season's shiny pets out the airlock to make room for new ones.It's not like they'll never respawn.

If, and only if, the 'epic' turtle skin is implimented as tameable turtles will i possibly contemplate switching Terrorpene. Terror was famous for a day on blizz' site as screenshot of the day way way back and we've developed quite the bond during my month long (and eventually abandoned) camp for time-lost. I would sit there for hours everyday with a fireplace set up snuggling up to him and just zoning out to the crackles of his shell with the howling wind of the peaks <3 Though even if we see the epic model as a tameable beast id be hard pressed letting go of Terror xD

Karoma is one of a kind thats openly available to players for her skin and with no new wolves being put out in mists, she doesnt have any competition, not that id ever get rid of her anyways xD

Ive never really liked sambas because of his mane (though i do believe i still have him on my ally hunter) but with no new lions coming out, he doesnt really have competition either.

I def gotta say that Shango will not be replaced for the new tiger model though on my blood elf. Creamsicle (shango's tamed name) matched my blood elf perfectly and her old RP dress she got back in TBC is a perfect match. The new tigers lack the right hue of colors and are far too refined for what i want outta my pretty orange kitty <3 but the black tigers and the pure white tiger (if we'll ever bloody see it.. i don think we've encountered the pure white model yet but rather the greyish one) are absolutely hands down getting tamed asap on my main hunter when she hits their lvls
