The Adoption of Melodie, Story One
Wykk crept through the ruins of Gilneas, looting ruined houses in true Goblin fashion. His pack of demon hounds were at his back, the runes on three of their bodies glowing brightly. Their mixed colors, and the bright moonlight cast eerie shadows and made Wykk nervous. Stepping around a shadowy corner, they came into a large courtyard, in which a shaft of moonlight lanced down over the rooftops, illuminating the entire scene, and making the runes of the dogs seem dull and unlively. A slight drizzle had begun, and the cold went all the way to Wykk's bones. A rather large-sized crate sat shoved off at the corner of a building, right where the rain rolled off the roof and streamer into it. Backbiter, Wykk's oldest hound stepped forward cautiously, his dark gray hide nearly making him invisible in the rain and stone of the city. Stepping up to the crate, he sniffed it cautiously, his large nose quivering, and his ears twitching. Snorting, Backbiter backed up, trotting back to Wykk. Odrin, Wykk's blue hound, lifted his head and sniffed at Backbiter as if he thought him the lesser hound for backing away. Asheria, the alpha female of the pack, trotted forward, the red runes on her body glowing in a lively fashion. The rest of the pack - and Wykk - followed Asheria at a distance, and when she reached the crate, they clustered around behind her, bouncing up on their back legs, trying to see over her. Wykk pushed through his dogs, draping an arm over Asheria's back, peering into the crate. Inside was a litter of four mastiff pups, hardly old enough to be taken from their mother, and a slightly larger, wolfish pup. There was a black female, staring up at Wykk with big, blue eyes. A light grey one wrestled with a tannish yellow at the back of the crate, stepping on each other to get to the top of the dog pile. The fourth mastiff was a reddish one, and she lay on her stomach in the corner, watching everyone calmly, with the wolfish thing leaning on her haunches. Wykk reached forward nervously, gently tipping the crate so the pups could get out. The four mastiffs tumbled out, and were snatched up by the scruffs of their necks by Moontide, Asheria, and Kasha, who was pregnant with her own first pup. The fourth was picked up grudgingly by Odrin, leaving only the wolfish one.
"Hey, little thing. You're an odd little wolf. How'd you get in with those Mastiff pups?" Wykk asked in a soothing, calm tone, gently petting her head. Inspecting the creature further, he noticed her front paws were flat, with long toes and claws, instead of the rounder puppy paws of the mastiffs. She began to cry and howl in a quiet melody, which made Wykk smile. Then, she stood up on her hind legs, looking like a little wolfish being. At this, Wykk promptly fainted.

Eternal Bonds All Have Beginnings, Story Two
Several months after Wykk's discovery and adoption of Melodie, Kasha gave birth to her pup. It was a little pinkish purple female with a bluish mane, and she was rather small. Very shortly after birth, she heard some wolves howling and began to howl, slightly shakily, in nearly perfect harmony with them. About a week later, when she was old enough to be taken from Kasha, Wykk carried the little purple hound into Melodie's room. Harmony (As she had come to be called) wriggled in the Goblin's arms uncomfortably, whining a little bit and pawing his arms with her front paws. Slowly lowering her onto Melodie's bed, Wykk backed up a few steps, ready to interfere should anything go wrong. Harmony instantly calmed, shoving her head under Melodie's extended arm, cuddling beside the Worgen. Melodie sighed in her sleep, smiling a bit and hugging Harmony. Wykk smiled, turning and tiptoeing out of the room, knowing that he had just seen an eternal bond begin, and he was right.
After that moment, Melodie and Harmony were rarely apart.
