Model recolours and other similar silliness [image heavy]

So, thanks to Wain I got into this whole "lets recolour textures and see how they look like" thing. Seeing as I've done a few now I thought I might as well make a thread for them. Some of the recolours are better than others as it takes a few tries to get "familiar" with how the skin wraps around the different models.

Devilsaurs, these were my first attempts:

Hydras:

Serpents:

Raptors:
The lower one being an attempt to remove the harnesses from the riding raptors.

And a white Sambas that I'm not too happy with... I might try again later:

Just a quick question before I post more: Do you guys prefer the animated or still pictures? I kinda like the animated better myself, but you can see the actual texture a bit better from the still ones.

Animated is lovely, provided that people don't quote back all of them in full! Gosh, that's a laggy load.

The black and green serpent is absolutely everything I have ever wanted in a pet. It's utterly perfect in every way and I'm so, so very sad that I cannot have it.

Beautiful work, Yoruko! I always love the colors you choose. Your recolors are very striking.

I absolutely love the black one too, it's like ashes with a smoldering core.

Of the older ones, I'm especially impressed your black-and-gold combos... devilsaur, hydra and serpent. That's a really striking colour scheme

As for animated vs still. I personally prefer still images. Animated are really nice to see but quickly become both distracting and cpu heavy when you end up with a lot on the one page. Like a web page from the 90s

Yeah, I'm starting to regret initially preferring the animated versions, as this page has become increasingly slow.

my page is running very well but i admit that i do have a computer that can more then handle a web page full of animated pictures, it just doesnt like games when settings are above medium/good.

The black and 'gezzy' themed core hounds are amazing <3 and sambas recolors are as always, in all the different versions ive seen him recolored in, gorgeous. I honestly really do like sambas as a whole, i just cant ever bring myself to keep him in the long run due to the mane, but there are always points in my in-game life that i fall in love with him, id probably end up in a crazy push n pull relationship with him on each of my hunters with respective RP-appropriate colors of him xD

Both the serpents should be mine.
And I have never wanted a corehound as much as that black one.

Hmm, it still runs fine for me, but then again people have different sorts of computers and everyone can't bother with a giant black monolith like I do. :lol:

Maybe it's in everyone's best interest to use still images and link any animated versions I have for them.

Yeah, actually, I tried to load the page on my laptop and it's screeching death at me. :oops:

Can you try taking a poke at a Black (Humar) colored Sambas with the green eyes. I'd love to see that in action
