Tera online

Unread post by zedxrgal »

Has anyone seen this game yet or is in the beta????
Looks amazing and should be coming out in early to mid March. So I am starting a thread. I have every intention of checking this game out when it comes out. So far I'm just watching videos from TotalBiscut & other places.

TERA's got alot of problems from what i've heared from having problems getting Released, being sued by NCSoft, and other controversies (Sexy Armor & The Elin) makes me kinda feel sorry for the guys behind it. Apart from the Elin I'm glad they are taking some of the more pedo looking gear away  Who's idea was to put little girls in budgy sumglers? But I might check it out but it looks a bit to much like an asian MMO for my tastes well style wise anyway.

EDIT: yes I know the Elin are not little girls BUT they look like little girls.

I'll hold my judgement intill it comes out.

They're making a Western version of TERA online that is supposed to appeal more to Western gamers than the Asian market version that's currently out "live" right now.

My response wasn't to your statement about the Elins, but your statement about it being too much like an Asian MMO. It looks like that because all of the released videos are from the Korean version of the game which is supposed to be different than the version they're releasing for Western gamers.

Anyway, I've seen a bare handful of videos from the Korean version so I'm reserving judgement on the game until I see videos from the Western version. The new combat system they're trying to introduce will make or break the game, imo.

Edit: Also, for those who don't know what TERA is, here's the link to their website: http://tera.enmasse.com/

I don't think they would change the whole style of the game just bits but I'll wait and see.

Yeah that combat system will most definintly make it or break it. Hopfully it's good or yeah it wont last long I mean they are taking a big risk with it.

I imagine it'll probably be like a cross between Diablo's combat system and Vindictus's. I like Vindictus's combat; it's relatively skill based and fairly fun.

If it does work and not follow most MMOs it would be a good competiter to WoW and SWTOR. Thats allgood in everyones books.

I like Diablo but I have not played Vindictus so I'll take your word on that one.

Vindictus is fairly decent for a little free action-style MMO game. Pretty well done for a F2P as well.
