Re: Ark: Survival Evolved
She was knocked out in the water and I was certain she'd drown when I had finally gotten one knocked out but oxy didn't go down and ironically enough she was right by a rock I could stand on to get to her, she didn't take much since she was fairly low level, she took only like 40 something narcs and about 200 or so berries.

Re: Ark: Survival Evolved
I'm in game right now. I saw someone running around near the big compounds but wasn't sure who it was. They were gone by the time I got back over. I'm Dodo hunting but not having much luck. There are raptors everywhere and the darn prey animals RUN THEM RIGHT TO ME. I should learn how to make bolos and bolo the darn things getting chased by the predators. Keep them busy for a little, while I RUN.

Re: Ark: Survival Evolved
six or so last night. Right by the hut was two. When /if I make it on tonight I'll go back and check unless you catch this message and post otherwise. I will try and dispatch any predators around there and see if something else respawns. I think if you are close to my compound or in between Nef's and I's run for our walls or beat feet it to my taming raft, up the sloped wall and out the doorways. Anything raptor size and larger will not get out. Either I or Nef should be able to kill it when we're back on. Our watch dogs should viciously attack anything coming near. Shoot. Nef's Spino Shira well attack (or try) things attacking my home or me from across the divide. If you're close run for there. Lord knows my predators have no qualms in dispatching an overzealous raptor. And thank you for the spoiler! Oh and take down low level Phimo too. Lot of meat and hide. Bolas while effective cost hide. And break. Use the trees, rocks etc to aide you.
Nef - In the water? I get anxiety over taming in my protected raft let alone in the water. I can't wait to see her.

Re: Ark: Survival Evolved
My house is closer to the forest but sort of between your stuff. It was thatch, but I've been replacing it and expanding with Lumber stuff. Not sure why it was missing walls? Everything was there when I logged in.
I just tamed my first dino, an Iguanodon. I thought I could ride it but it seems the schematic for the saddle isn't in the Primitive yet. Doesn't matter because the idiot immediately ran after a Trike and got us both killed, DESPITE me putting him on Neutral/Not aggressive. I absolutely hate the controls in this game when it comes to pets.

Read this: Tips & Tricks
And this: Getting Started
If you haven't already. Tons of great info.
Interesting. So maybe it wasn't your house. The house I saw was very close to the forest close to the center line between Nef and I's compounds.
Shame running to our houses didn't work. Upon thinking. I wonder if it's because you're not in the tribe. At least if you can make it to my raft you'll be safe in there. Nor sure if Nef built her raft or not.
*shrug*
Hope to be on soon though.
Oh! And you have to set a pet to neutral first before putting it on passive. I wouldn't really worry about having one till level 20-ish. Priority should be strong house and walls.

Re: Ark: Survival Evolved
I tried talking to the guys but it seems my mic is terrible. They could barely hear me if at all. I tried putting mic boost on under computer settings so hopefully that helps. I need to get a new headset. My old one died and this was a back up. I didn't realize when I got it that it wasn't a USB one.
Edit:
Server went down for a quickie maint. But before that I managed to chase that darn Carno off. I ran him to the taming house things a couple times but he just kept coming back to my house and chomping on it. So I just kept pegging him in the butt with stones until he ran off into the woods and didn't come back. Teach that mean ol Carno who's boss! *flexes weak level 25 muscles*

Re: Ark: Survival Evolved
I will try to catch you on soon to see if I can invite you unless you two see eachother first. if you join the tribe you'll be able to take 'refuge' in either of our compounds, if you do that the
watchdogs should chomp down on whatever's chasin you.
And store tames untill you get an enclosure built.
I was literally shaking the whole time, I peppered her with arrows, she didn't go down, go back to my house, make a giant bear trap come back convinced I would have to start over on the torpor thing.
shoot her in the butt with one arrow and see her collapse in shallow water .. shit ... swim up to her to check oxygen .. hm not going down, clamber up on the rock .. smack whatever berries and narcs into her inventory and just wait while nervously watching for predators. I was half certain something would come along but I think beeing out in the water meant I was 'out of sight' from most things on the beach which helped.
On another note: I got my fuzzball from Braz a greyfurred lass named Brunhildar Braz is such a nice person, cheered me on with the bronto, let me have whichever of the bears I wanted (Exept one who he had reserved) and gave me both a saddle for her and a bronto saddle for Betsy. afterwards he escorted me back close to my compound when I was worried about bringing my teddy home on land.
Brun is such a neat animal, and much faster than you'd think too and nearly as strong as a rex.

Re: Ark: Survival Evolved
Almost done with upgrading my house. It's taking longer because I keep wandering around looking for Dodos and just exploring. I tried to tame another dino and the same damn thing happened. You'd think I'd remember from the first one how to change it, but noooo. The way the circle menu makes it look, it's like they're set to aggressive right off the bat. So me, being me, clicks it thinking I'm turning it off when I'm actually turning it on and vrooom there they go! This one was a Parasaur. I tried whistling to get her back but she just ignored me. Kept going. Chased the male Para away then picked a fight with a Trike. I just left it go instead of getting myself killed again. I'm terrible at this. I REALLY need to remember how this darn radial menu works.

Re: Ark: Survival Evolved
Try making fence foundations and build thatch walls or something similar around the tame before it finishes, should keep it immobile long enough for you to get the menu sorted and give abit of protection while taming. When you get that the spike fences are useful and don't need foundations to put down.

Re: Ark: Survival Evolved
Nef - your bronto is super cute. Gratz on taming her I adore the name !
Zed - That gigantosaurus on the photos is an Omega.. its soo huge! It kinda ruined the experience for me if i cant see where I am going.. simply to large. I do have an Alpha Gigantosaurus.. while scary its not so big so - and not sure it enrages as easily as the omega did.. I dont use it for much.. mostly go out on adventure on my wolf - but the Alpha gigantosaurus is nice to have for my army.. i plan on taking on the broadmother one day so need as many teeth as I can get
I had an underwater adventure yesterday.. not my favorite but I need some underwater dinos to be able to tame a squid one day.. and to go into the underwater caves .. but thats a loong road ahead before i go into any caves.
Caught 3 underwater dinos, all Alphas off course - First off a Plesiosaur
Size comparison with me mounted
next off a megaladon
and I think this is called a Mosasaurus
I still need to find a Leedsichthys, an Electrophorus and a Manta.. but not sure if any of them comes in an Alpha, or Elite version.. have only seen normal mantas so far..and the lowest version I want to tame is elites..
I might need to expand my underwater pen yet again... but need more wood for that

Re: Ark: Survival Evolved
I don't have a raft right now, I destroyed the one I had, I'll be building a new one soon so I can farm metal for Didis 10 person saddle.
Vaellia showed me good places for both crystals and metal nice and close to our bases after I complained once again about constantly losing my spyglass.
Seila would it be okay if I add you on steam as well? if so pm me your username if not that's okay. It would let me see when you're on and playing making it easier to help out if needed.

Re: Ark: Survival Evolved
I'm currently hiding in your house... there is a level 130 Dilo AGAIN. Or.. was it 120? I know it's over 100 and while running from it I ran into a Raptor. It's kind of awkward because.. well.. you're kind of unconscious here on the floor... I think this is you? Nef is Sarai and Zed is Falara? (Sorry if I spelled that wrong, I can't see your compound from here, and you totally gave me a whole bunch of stuff earlier.)
Edit:
Actually I'm going to take a break. I can't do much with with the 100+ Dilo hanging around, the Raptor, and now a new level 130 Raptor. It could be the same one that chased me earlier that I just assumed was the level 70 one I had ran from not long before that. All I know is they are sticking around the area. I'm also in a lot of pain right now. Took a Naproxen and waiting for it to kick in, but sitting here is just painful. I keep adjusting myself in hopes it will help and it doesn't. (Ovarian cyst that is growing but they don't want to remove.)

Re: Ark: Survival Evolved
I'll send you a friendrequest when I get home, currently at 'work'
Yeah your character 'sleeps' in the game while you're offline which is why everyone says a safe house/base is a priority.
I'm currently planning an expansion since I wasn't actually expecting to sucessfully tame Betsy and she takes up ALOT of room. I'll likely have to build another Behemoth gate.
Erf :/ a break might be good, take care and I hope you feel better soon.

Re: Ark: Survival Evolved
I hope my home isn't in the way to expand your base, Nef. Imagine now we're in a tribe together it shouldn't interfere. I want to start working on a big enclosure next, but space by the water is limited. There's a random wall to the west. If that big house boat wasn't north of Nef I might be able to get in there, but there's another up on the hill. I was thinking of going across the water, but that's quite a ways to go.
I actually took an amusing screenshot in Nef's enclosure... but it didn't take? I can't find it in the folder or on steam. I had her rex, bronco and two carnos looking down at me like, "excuse me, who are you in our home?"
I also gave some pets to the little four legged guys. Their responses were cute.

Re: Ark: Survival Evolved
Seilahyn - I'll accept the friend request or send one soon as I get home. The UI has some known bugs they're appear to be aware of. Nef has a great idea in protection walls. Once we get the mega base plans worked out taming things should be easier. Great job on the carno.
Nef - We should talk with Wolf Tribe and see if they've anymore adoptables for Seila OR get then ourselves. I'm good either way. I'll try and be on tonight but i know you'll be offline by the time I do. I suspect this weekend we'll have the opportunity to workout /on mega base. Trying to think if there is anything else.
Anyone - if I run out of meats will my kids starve and die?

Yeah I would be happy to help with taming, either as a sentry or gathering whatever food is needed etc.
I'm on right now so I can talk to them if you want.
I think so but it takes time.

The little Lystros???? I tamed all three of mine with mejoberries. Followed them around like a crazy person. Soon as they got hungry I mashed that E button.Nefretiti wrote:the little tykes are cute and not all that hard to tame but you need rare flower, after that you basically just follow them around and feed them, doesnt take long.
i really want to get home and play but I think the man is going to make me go grocery shopping and get dinner.
