Amber Parasites and Gorishi Grubs - Not Tameable on the PTR

It seems as though our Wormy Friends are no longer tameable on the PTR. I am unsure if the Gorishi Grubs are still tameable at this time because Portals to other parts of the world are not working. In fact Mailboxes and even the Banquets aren't working at all at this time O-o (That's why you see the mage in my party, was testing Portals on my moms account at the time)

However the good news is that those who HAVE tamed these two pets on the Live Realms still have them. Though coming as a bit of a downside to the Amber Parasite is that it has been Resized, the Gorishi Grub still appears to be the same size.

Awww, well, that's a shame -- Kou's keeping her little green Wormmon for sure, but I'll have to see if I really like Grubstep's swagger and somersaults enough to have two worms in Neilaren's stable (I'm never getting rid of Invincible, that's for sure). That one was always something of a temporary tame, but everyone else really loves it, heh.

I tamed a Gorshi Grub on the PTR several hours ago; I can confirm that they're still tameable as of this build.

It's gonna say 'cannot be tamed' but it really is tameable.

It says Cannot Be Tamed on live as well, unless that was changed. xD

I have in fact tried this, I tried before even taking the Beast Mastery Screenshot. It says invalid target or something along those lines (I think it might say creature not tameable) but yes, I have tested it when I went to get my Amber Worm and the results were that it couldn't be tamed. If anyone else wishes to go and test it to see if I made a mistake you are welcome to do so though

Confirmed that it says "Creature not tameable" when you physically try to tame.

*points at the forum* This is a 5.2 change, not a hotfix. There's still time, but not much, depending on how long this patch stays on the PTR.

There's always the chance they'll apply this hotfix to live as well as ptr, so I'd do it sooner rather than later.

They still need to fix the buff taming trick on live (they usually don't let that one go for too long), so they could easily fix both at once. I hope they don't, though

I tamed this baby less than an hour ago, and he doesn't seem too shrunken as yet!



I personally look forward to them being smaller, but I have always wanted a toothed maggot and now I have it.

Mine is still HUGE one live, I'm glad they're getting shrunk down.

Just because they show a Diet doesn't mean they will be tameable sadly. Other beasts (Such as those Weird Ant-Lion/Tank things in AQ) show Diets as well but also come up as Cannot be Tamed. Perhaps we can hope in the future that someone in Blizzard will allow us to get more interesting pets (I know at some point we were promised Hydras but never got them).

I don't mind them being shrunk though I kinda grew attached to the size personally. I have to wonder if the shrunken Amber Parasite still does it's adorable flips and saults at that size as well. My priest friend has way too much fun Leap of Faithing Magahet XD

I just can't decide if I like the Gorishi or the Amber better. xD
