Karkin Get!
Was just wandering around, doing my dailies, and foom, there he was, just sitting on a bit of rock, all "Hey, sup? Im just gonna sit here and be shiny."
I knew the trick to taming him, so, paired with the new Tame Beast glyph that cuts four seconds off the time, I hit Deterrence and Tame Beast, the Deterrence deflected his attack, and boom, he was mine.
I hit upon the vague notion that his metallic look makes him seem almost like a machine more than a beast - the reddish glowing bits remind me of Terminator, in fact - but I can't really coalesce that notion into a good name...

Kabiri, or Cabeiri
Greek deities, sons of Hephaestus (Greek god of metallurgy and volcanoes).
The Cabeiri were apparently thought of as crabs (karkinoi!) They had pincers instead of hands, which they used as tongs in metalworking.

Re: Karkin Get!
Steele (meaning as hard/durable as steel - a bit obvious but oh well)
Chisulo (African origins meaning Strength of Steel)
I got these by looking up baby names that have a meaning that surrounds types of metal. That's how I get most of my pet names

Thanks to LupisDarkmoon for drawing Raiden for me! Love him!

I named mine Hematite. I was tempted by Metallicrab or Steel or Stahl.

Re: Karkin Get!
got bored, started futzing around with Google Trnaslate, putting various metal-themed words in and setting it to random languages, and I think I found a good one...
Stahlgriff - German for "steel grip". fitting for a metal crab, no?
(At first I thought "eisenfaust" - "Iron fist" - sounded good, but something prickled at the back of my head, so I googled it... it's the name of an NPC mob in Sotrm Peaks, and also an alternate name for Operation Panzerfaust, one of Hitler's military strategies back in WW2. Bad connotations there.)

Re: Karkin Get!
if you want to use a German name I'm all yours for translations. Perhaps you like "Stahltier"? It means animal made of steel. It's how our steam locomotives were called back in time and it might be fitting for a tanking crab charging in to an enemy
"Eisenklaue" would mean claw of iron.
And personally I always had the name "Metalhead" in my mind, probably because as a person who likes Heavy Metal as music it just makes me giggle.
