Was when it was posted. I think 11 months and its time for a new post.
Merlynshade organized the current list. As of 11/28/2010

Again, sorry for "stealing" it.

I was gonna wait to ask mania or a mod first before we did this, and possibly to get a mod to have an updated post.....soo.....I guess this is okay. A little uneasy about it since I didnt see a mod approve a remake. ^^; Was hopin Veph or Kalli would do this.

Very true, probably wasn't super smart of me. I'll PM Mania to ask her to have the updated list or something of the sort.

I don't see a problem with someone taking the initiative to do this. It's not like you need permission to make a reference list like this. It's helpful to the community, so if you want to keep it updated Necras, go for it. I'll update the link in the Resource Thread.

Also....what do all the asterisks and stuff mean? Should put a legend on there and probably credit the person that helped put the new list together. ^^;

Where is THEIR credit? They composed the list you shamelessly copypasta (and without even explanation on the asterisks), with no regard to the time Merlynshade put into it.

EDIT: Alright, now that you edited the post and credited Merlynshade, I'm not so offended.
Still, should've done it in the first place, and not after someone pointed it out to you.

I added their name to the bottom of the list. I do apologize that I did forget to credit the person who composed the list. For you being offended I think you look to far into small / minor matters. Instead of being glad that there is a new post, you'd rather be offended. A mere "Hey make sure you add "Merlynshade" name in to that. But, I can also call the now since I've just added a name to it they didn't compose the most updated list. But nonetheless I'll add his name to avoid people getting "offended."

As to Merlynshade, I do apologize for forgetting your name. That was my mistake and please accept my apology. I've dated the list w/ credit to you.

Not giving credit where it is due is one of my pet peeves, so perhaps I came a bit stronger than I should have, and I'm sorry for that, but I think I was in the right nonetheless.
I'm happy that this is here, however, and I hope that the topic will get a sticky. It's very useful.

You're correct and I was wrong. He was the person I forgot crediting, as you see though I did remember to do the original creator & the reformed creator of the post. If you see any other thing I missed please do let me know.

I have a name to add to that list if you don't mind. Tried naming my adorable brown fox Georgia and it said the name was reserved.

Tried to name my troll hunterling's Duskstalker 'Stalker'...reserved.

Grunti and Gruntie, both reserved

Idaho is reserved. I assume all the states are, but I have not checked.

From what I can remember Scar, Mufasa and Simba are also reserved

There is a simple way past it just use a different character to replace a Letter

for example the name Diablo could be spelled using a different o like Diablø
or the name Skywalker could be spelled using a different e like Skywalkér

There are so Manny ways around name restrictions

and to find these characters simply go into your Character Map in your System tools and there ya go

Thats true, but they are technically against naming rules, so if someone reports you and the GM cares enough then you will still have to rename.
