ive decided to abandon my spider and tame a yellow wasp from zangarmarch. still i would like if someone could give me a name from the tolkien series, a godname ( greek, norse, anything) or just a word on latin meaning something that is related to the insect

I'd suggest the name Glo. Just because it sounds right.

I looked up what Glow is in Latin and it gave me:
Subluceo, nitor, niteo, incalesco, ferveo, and candeo.

I like the sound of Latin names, and a friend helped me find out what the name for bee is in latin, Apis. Which is why my wasp is named Apis (othe Sapphire Hive queen, whose model does not shrink when tamed, she's bigger than my mammoth mount!

Anyhow, maybe you want something similar? My friend just went to Wikipedia and typed in bee, and the Latin name was right there. For firefly, I found Lampyridae.

You could always make a Firefly reference and name it Malcolm Or Serenity.
