I would make the sky golem on the PTR but the "Jard's Peculiar Energy Source" has a "once daily" cooldown on the PTR for some inane reason. Not going to do 30 days of logging in on a PTR for that lol

I've compiled what info we have on the Sky Golem for WCM (it's not up yet).

I was just wondering if anyone has had any first-hand experience with one yet. The movies so far have showed the blue version. But is that on the ptr, or someone's private server? Do we know for sure that it's going to be the blue one?

Just asking because I'm yet to see any concrete info on any site. Now "where"s and "how"s.

well on the PTR, it will take no less than 30 days to make the Golem due to the once a day Jard material. I don't know if someone had started at day one how many they would have now (I got the recipe for the Jard's material, along with Not Sky Claw, Pierre, Rascal-bot and Fridge quite early).

I am debating copying my hunter over a bunch of times, getting the recipe on all of them and just powering through the Jard's thing. That way I could not only make the mount a lot sooner, but also Pierre and the Rascal-bot.

Edit: Scratch that, the Jard material you need 30 of for mount and 15 of for Rascal Bot and Pierre are BOP. Oy.

Maybe, but like I said, I got my schematic early in the PTR. Has it been 30 days since the start of the PTR? If it has, it is theoretically possible someone was making these once a day components since then, and has legitimately crafted the Sky Golem by now. IDK though. "Once a day" is a silly limitation in a test environment to me.

Edit: FWIW, I found Galakras and Zaela flying out around Bladefist Bay. Model looks cool in person, despite being red proto.



Edit 2: I found someone on Alliance who had the SkyGolem crafted so it has been enough time to make the 30 Zard pieces.

It sounds like the Engineering helicopter atm and has weird eratic flying animations (or maybe the guy who had it was flying eratic lol). Notice in the flying pic where the mount is in relation to the targeting circle.

Pretty sure the mount is blue across the board, as I think the pilot in the first leaked screencaps was a belf.

Also interesting that the Galakras mount looks complete on the PTR. That means it's just WMV that isn't rendering it right. I'm going to have to look into that.

As much as I quite like red proto's too, I think it a shame that it's not useing the black Proto skin as it was retired some time ago.
Being a red proto does have it's merits reagrding lore though, concidering "the dragonmaw managed to enslave a large number of red dragons (as well as nether ones in Outland) and use them as battle mounts against their enemies."

Does the "last blood of Galakrond" mean that Galakrond was red? Or did he just mate with whatever? And how do they know? Aren't protodrakes kinda dumb and unlikely to have kept genealogical records?

There is nothing that I can find that officially confirms his colour, though if you go off the official art of him (from the novel) he's a dark purple/blue/black?

If he is meant to be last blood of Galakrond, I'm not sure what colour I'd give him of the 5 aspects we know of, but if it’s from a Dragonmaw, red fits best I guess.

Yeah. I guess he bred before he reached that size. :/. Maybe he was red before he got fat. Assuming protodrake colours are all separate species and don't interbreed.

Are the novels canon? I guess they are, or at least their main plot points.

I have always wanted to see a picture of Galakrond. I also kinda wanted to see the Lich King raise its skeleton in Dragonblight (although Galakrond's skeleton fits more the regular dragon model than protodrake, who have wider flatter heads, like an alligator. His skeleton looks like the the sharper heads of dragons, who favor lizards. then again, I dont think we have seen a protodrake skeleton in game...)
