Also the center area where the celestials are changed a wee bit. Instead of each celestial occupying a corner, now one is in the center facing the entrance. On a pedestal on the edge behind him is Emperor Shaohao. I don't know if Jade Serpent is always in the center or if it rotates or what but this is how it is now...

*ponders the fun that could be had with a tamed pirate ship pet*

Those Monstrous Spineclaws are really lovely. A nice burgundy kind of colour. Are they all still 91?

The sad thing is I saw this thing early in the PTR and even checked him minutes before posting to see if he had changed -_- lol

The Molten Guardian, Dread Ship Vazuvius, and the other mislabeled things as beasts hey do not draw to much attention because they may be like the Hydra and tameable in the next expansion when the level cap goes up and made unique and untameable like the grub worms, hydra, and ooze. And Tsavo'ka <Ghost in the Darkness> needs to be a sha corrupted cat skin that since its rare, allow it to keep the sha aura after taming .

When the isle is actually testable beast lore all of these odd pets cuz theres a chance there is one mistakenly tameable and if so keep it on a downlow for next expansion when the cap is 95 or so that ppl can come back here to tame em .

We don't do that here. Anything dubious is reported. If they decide to leave it then well and good.

Oh my gosh so many rares!! Npc scan is going to piss me off again on this island i know it haha!!! I love all the new mobs tho, hope the crane stays a rare skin until the next expansion tho...that crane is a bugger to track down!!

From what I can tell, of all the mob types on the island (turtles, cranes, yak, pythons, spirits, sharks, crabs, sprites, yaungol, elementals, tigers, cloud serpents, silkworm, frog, cliffwalkers, one eyed swamp beasts, pirateship), turtles remain the only type that does not have a rare yet. Everything else has a rare represented. My foolish heart thinks that would be a great opportunity for the tortos skin to be tameable. If someone knows I missed a mob type, please let me know.

Anyways, more screenshots..

I found the rare cranes again, they spawn in different locations than were I found the original.



This guy is found sitting around the celestial arena looking on. The whole schtick about the edge of the arena is it has NPCs from all over Pandaria that you have met in quests etc. However I don't remember the Monkey King. Maybe a Jade Forest quest I forgot about /shrug

The Monkey King is from an Alliance quest for Operation: Shieldwall.

I don't think they are. I mean I remember back in the day there being whole parts of some zones that only had elites in them.

The abundance of rares is definitely a new approach to the system. I prefer it, but then again I like collecting all the neat little knick knacks they can drop.

Monkey King isn't a rare though. Hehe. He's from the Alliance questing...Shieldwall I think.

It'll be like going to Un'goro in the good old days!

Well his best friend is the last Emperor, so we have all the coolest Legends on our side

Note: just joking around. My hunter is Horde and my shammy Alliance, so I see both sides of the Lore. It's really worthwhile

I wanted to make a joke about faction favoritism with the Monkey King but I didn't want to ignite a fire and derail my own thread lol -_-

Regarding all the rares... two thoughts (or perhaps three)

Since the idea for the isle is to be one of discovery, we're going to be fighting these rares a LOT. IoTK on steroids. They'll likely be key to getting the coins to upgrade the Legendary cloaks. Good thing I've been practicing on Warbringers...

Blizz had noted that they were pleasantly surprised at the response to the IoTK rares, so we are getting that + barrens together in one place.

The thing I really like about it is that you won't really be tied to daily quests/events, if you want to do a week's worth in one day, you can.

The fact that there are so many rares there will make it truly a place of discovery.
You never know which ones are up. You never know which ones you'll meet. You never know if that path is safe to follow, or will you be jumped by that rare that spawns behind that bush.

Only rare I'm worrying about is Gu'chi and his gang of thugworms.
