Re: Potential new hunter pets in WoD
Theres also some saddled clefthooves in an Iron Horde level 100 area in Talador that are tameable as well. They are same skin as Giantsbane, but FWIW.

Interesting. I'd been hoping the Pack Beasts became tameable. Those Broken Clefthooves were already tameable, but they did not have packs last build!

Re: Potential new hunter pets in WoD
The pack beasts were actually tameable before (The Iron Horde Pack Beasts, ID 78196) in Gorgrond, before. I remember checking when I was diddling around there and it was *after* I had tamed Giantsbane. I came upon them again just last night and they were marked un-tameable now. 8(
Re: Potential new hunter pets in WoD
OH. Sorry I confused them with another mob! The ones I had been thinking of are actually called "Hunting Mount" and are are saddled, white clefthooves in FFR. They're parked up at the Thunderlord settlement at Colossal's Fall and don't have riders. I'd been watching them for a while, hoping they'd become tameable. There are grey clefthooves next to them with the full pack stuff on their backs that could also become tameable but it might seem a little silly (and cruel!) for the poor thing to be in combatjensketch wrote:The pack beasts were actually tameable before (The Iron Horde Pack Beasts, ID 78196) in Gorgrond, before. The new look for the Broken Clefthoof at least finally makes sense of something for me. Previously the riders were out in front and looked like they were leading them around, but they had their legs stuck in a crouched position. They were meant to be riding them all along, I guess.

Ahh okay - I was all over FFR this morning but I cannot say I recall what you describe (the Hunting Mount etc) - considering I was there mainly for the new battle pets though, I can't be held accountable for bad memory
I did see some cool "Pack Boars" that were tameable ID 80174 but, alas, the pack disappears when tamed 8(

Re: Potential new hunter pets in WoD
Yeah, the pack boars are on the list. The FFR list should be mostly complete now. I'm sure there will still be mobs missing (maybe some phased things, but especially the 1001 different mobs all called "Frost Wolf"), but most everything that is important for taming purposes has been checked for appearance and tameability recently.jensketch wrote:Ahh okay - I was all over FFR this morning but I cannot say I recall what you describe (the Hunting Mount etc) - considering I was there mainly for the new battle pets though, I can't be held accountable for bad memory

Re: Potential new hunter pets in WoD
Hi :3, I'm new here so sorry if asking this is inappropriate but could you also squeeze a suggestion in there for tameable skyscreamers? I mean they are going to all this trouble for rylaks but are totally ignoring this awesome pterosaur, we only get 1 mount as a glory of achievement and its the sleepy armored version, seeing npcs with them as pets and my wild beast summons not to mention all these armored AND unarmored mounts in such variation in WoD makes me feel kinda.... cheated on the skyscreamer thing, 1 mount and no pet, they should be just like the direhorns, lots of mounts and pet options :3, on that note could you also suggest that the armored dinosaurs on the isle of thunder be tameable as well? :3 thank you for your time and again I apologize if this is inappropriate to ask

Re: Potential new hunter pets in WoD
Those skyscreamers are definitely a beast desired by some posters around these parts (along with many others, like pterrordax, kunchongs, cloud serpents, skeletal wind serpents/raptors etc etc) so you're in good company! WoD has added a few more, such as dread ravens and terroclaws (wild versions, not just raid) to that list as well. And this expansion alone we got Hydra and Stag, two long standing favorites here.
From what I think we've found, theres even a pterrorwing in Draenor, but there is npc precedence of a hunter tamed pterrorwing with Ku'lai on Isle of Thunder. So who knows! also welcome!

Re: Potential new hunter pets in WoD
I just want to add my name to the list of people hoping that the following get a taming pass:
-Kunchong
-Pterrorwings/Skyscreamers
Otherwise I am one happy hunter come WoD!

Re: Potential new hunter pets in WoD
I know that this is slightly straying off topic here, but as far as "anything that should be tameable" be mentioned, I think the precedence of being able to (temporarily) tame Yaks and Mushan from MoP beta makes them solid candidates for a last-minute addition. (Or maybe added in a later patch, like Direhorns.)
Yaks could easily fit into the Clefthoof family. I mean, they have cleft hooves, and are furry and have giant horns. And they're also adorable.
As for Mushan, I understand if they are saved for a later time- I remember some tweet saying they would be part of a "thunder lizard" family with the Kodo.
But if there's any chance for Yaks to be considered Clefthooves, we should try for it now!

Looks like we'll finally see the fabled "taming pass" within the next few builds!

Hopefully Teroclaws and Teroclaw Chicks finally become tameable. I mean, he did confirm they would be, it's just been such a painful wait.

Hopefully this is a good sign, further confirming they will in fact be tamable.WerebearGuy wrote:Ickabob wrote:Looks like we'll finally see the fabled "taming pass" within the next few builds!

Disappointingly, Teroclaws are still untameable as of the latest build.
Kunchong for hunter pets!
Thanks to Moonlost for the awesome avatar!
Re: Potential new hunter pets in WoD
I believe the tameability changes that were mentioned are pretty fresh, which means it might be a build or two before we see them. Don't worry, we shall soon!

Re: Potential new hunter pets in WoD
Since that latest tweet has pretty much 100% confirmed the Teroclaws (I can't see it any other way, really)
I definitely hope that this two color shows up somewhere.
Unless it's being saved for a rare hunter pet (have we gotten any rare-tames yet? Besides Gara, sort of?), it would be a shame if this variation never made it in-game.

Blue definitely exists in Talador. Not sure about the other.

Re: Potential new hunter pets in WoD
Ji'kun is that color right? Maybe one day she(?) will become tamable along with Horridon and Tortos. Then Oondasta and Thok could be made tamable, as well as any of the other armored dinos on thunder isle. Maybe pterrorwings can be added around that time too
Wishful thinking.

I rewrote a little diddy to show my hype.Qraljar wrote:Disappointingly, Teroclaws are still untameable as of the latest build.

Oh, my, god. Feasel, look at her bird.
It is so big. [scoff]
She looks like one of those rap guys' hunter pets.
But, you know, who understands those rap guys? [scoff]
They only hunt for her, because, she looks like a total hunter pet, 'kay?
I mean, her bird, is just so big.
I can't believe it's just so round, it's like, out there, I mean— gross. Look!
She's just so... soft!
[Sir Mix-a-Lot]
I like big birds and I can not lie
You other hunters can't deny
That when a bird walks in with an itty bitty beak
And a soft thing in your face
You get sprung, wanna pull out your tough
'Cause you notice that bird was stuffed
Deep in the stats she's sporting
I'm hooked and I can't stop staring
Oh baby, I wanna tame with you
And take your picture
My homeboys tried to warn me
But that bird you got makes me so happy
Ooh, Bird-o'-smooth-tame
You say you wanna get in my stable?
Well, use me, use me
'Cause you ain't that average birdie
I've seen them flappin'
To hell with ca-cawin'
She's sweat, wet,
Got it goin' like a turbo 'Vette
I'm tired of twitter tweets
Sayin' flat hooves are the thing
Take the average hunter and ask him that
She gotta pack much beak
So, hunters! (Yeah!) hunters! (Yeah!)
Has your hunter got the bird? (Hell yeah!)
Tell 'em to cast trick! (cast trick!) cast trick! (cast trickt!)
Shake that healthy butt!
Hunter got bird!

The hype level for the new pets is real.
I can't help but be excited myself.
