With the removal or hit and expertise Dwarves, Draenei and Trolls will loose benefits as hunters. Dwarves have Crack Shot and Trolls have Dead Eye racial trait that increases expertise with ranged weapons by a small amount. Draeneie have Heroic Presence that gives 1% chance to hit with spells and attacks. Even though these racials do not increase DPS they did provide benifits for being one of those races. I suggest thier racial gave them a 1% crit boost or 1% haste boost.

Well, Dreanei still have the advantage as a hunter race of having a nice self heal. but yeah...I really thing that all the races (except maybe pandaren/goblin/worgen) need some racial trait overhauls.

sounds more like a blood elf ability...this needs further study! :)


they could just replace the hit with a new stat like crit or something but some of the newer races have some pretty sweet racials so here's to hoping these guys get some new perks.

I vote for them getting the new tertiary stats like life steal or cleave extra aoe damage.

Well if the more recent races Racials are anything to go on...

Goblin
[Rocket Jump] ~ On Use
[Rocket Barrage] ~ On Use
[Time is Money] ~ Passive Stat Buff
[Best Deals Anywhere] ~ Extra Bonus
[Pack Hobgoblin] ~ Extra Bonus
[Better Living Through Chemistry] ~ Profession Bonus

They have a lot more options and a few more extra bonuses. Now if we look at the ones not so up to date....

Draenei
[Gift of the Naaru] ~ On Use
[Heroic Presence] ~ Passive Stat Buff
[Gemcutting] ~ Profession Bonus
[Shadow Resistance] ~ Extra Bonus

Dwarf
[Stoneform] ~ On Use
[Crack Shot] ~ Passive Stat Buff
[Mace Specialization] ~ Passive Stat Buff

[Frost Resistance] ~ Extra Bonus
[Explorer] ~ Extra Bonus

Troll
[Berserking] ~ On Use
[Regeneration] ~ Extra Bonus
[Beast Slaying] ~ Extra Bonus
[Dead Eye] ~ Passive Stat Buff
[Da Voodoo Shuffle] ~ Extra Bonus


All the "On Use" are fine, but the Draenei will be down a "Passive Buff" and is already down an "Extra Bonus", Dwarfs will be down 2 "Passive Stat Buffs" and Troll 1 "Passive Stat Buff" with the removal of Expertise and Hit.

Some of the new Stats are Movement Speed, Sturdiness, Life Steal, Avoidance (less AoE damage), and Cleave. I can think of some of these making sense for other classes (Like Slapper already mentioning) but none of them jump out at me as a perfect link to any of the races that will need new Stats.

And there is also room for new "Extra Bonuses" instead of some of these being removed. For eg.

Dwarf ~ [Smithing] You can repair your own weapons and armour without having to visit a blacksmith. (still incurs repair costs)
or
Draenei ~ [Heroic Presence] You gain 5% extra Justice and Valour points from all sources.

Well, whatever they add, I hope they opt to do more Extra Bonuses rather than just Passive Stat Buff, they are more fun and exciting imo.

I like that Dwarf Smithing, but it likely should require a crafting profession.

If they don't just up and rework racials to be fun/cosmetic only, they need to take this opportunity to make alliance racials on par with (or better than :P) what the horde has to offer. It's no secret many progression guilds gravitate towards horde simply because they possess superior racial bonuses for PVE.

Honestly, they need to just remove combat effective racials. Race shouldn't be a choice when min/maxing your toon. Racial choice should be fun.

Just my two cents.

I agree with this. When I chose my races I didn't do it because of what racials they gave but was given flack later on in raiding for not picking x race "because it would boost your dps". Thats such rubbish. Should pick your race for fun and what you like to play :)

I think there is room for racial bonuses for crafting professions (like the dwarf smithing example above), but I agree they should not directly impact dps, tanking, or healing.

Agreed, especially when they have gone to such extremes with Professions making them pretty much identical stats for overall fights (Even things like Physical DPS options for a Tailoring, etc) That and every one has the option to choose any profession, there is no race restriction.

Definitely agreed about racials not affecting combat. Nobody should feel forced to switch race to min/max over their own personal game story. I wish they'd find some way of re-working gathering profession bonuses for the same reason. If you're a jc or blacksmith, it should make sense that you take mining... you shouldn't feel compelled to avoid it because the str bonus isn't any good for your raiding, or something.

Yes it was so boring when everyone told me to go skinning for the crit on my new hunter...I hate skinning :( So i went JC/Lwing as I had another skinner/miner to feed her mats. Although I do like the food bonus of being a panda...but then pandas are awesome!
