Nvm, it's the/an entrance to the Everbloom dungeon xD

Edit: It's behind the really tall tower in the Mage Quarter of Stormwind City. Haven't been on a Horde character to see if Org has one somewhere and I don't know if any other cities have it. No NPC's atm but probably when the dungeon's released, there will be. Or they might be phased~

hmmm interesting... maybe the return of the park? or could it have to do with the potential trademark of "Eye of Azshara"( it is most likely a hoax but at this point anything is on the table)

It's connected to the Everbloom instance.

The last boss, a Genesaur, runs through a Kirin Tor portal to Stormwind and tries to overwhelm the city with its nature powers. And then you, the player - try to stop it.

I saw this a few days after the patch and it startled me as well. It makes you feel kind of silly not noticing something that big parked outside your main city, next to the mage portal you use every day.
Like Qraljar said, its tied to an upcoming raid/instance dealing with the new plant guys. it looks pretty cool. its been so long since they have used that style of portal for anything.

So I assume the horde side is different right? Would be a bit odd saving stormwind on a horde toon XD

I got the impression it was Stormwind for both factions, but would be interested to know if that's not the case.

I guess for Horde players the incentive is preventing a virulent, rapidly-spreading life form from invading Azeroth.

I flew around Org and didn't see anything in the mountains surrounding the city. Doubtful there'll be one in any other city but Blizz sometimes puts things in weird places. It might be, that any NPC's who do show up at the SW location may be Neutral and have a portal for both factions, or at least one for the Horde for easy access. Could also be a phased thing (any beta players know anything about this place?). The site is far enough away that guards shouldn't see you but I believe it's still part of Stormwind's zone which means Horde will be flagged for PvP for going near it atm :F

that rings a bell....Star Trek Voyager?

I am curious to see how this works for horde players. I know we are supposed to more or less be at peace with them at the moment but it would still seem strange for them to save Stormwind.

(also i must agree it looks like a lovely place to RP.)

Gah. I can't remember where it was, but I'd swear that over the weekend, I saw a new portal in Org that you couldn't interact with. I want to say it was in Vol'Jin's room.

We've been doing that for 10 years now, but those darned Gnomes are still around.
