The pink crane and water strider were removed as ordinary spawns and require hunting down rares now? :(

In any case, it's good to have the information. Thanks for gathering it.

Argh, I cannot see teeny footprints the crane. Anyone got any pathing tips?

Actually, the water strider's never been in game before. :) Unless you mean the fen strider, since water striders get representation as two rares, in which case, yes.....although technically Boglash was never tameable as white. For what that's worth. :) But yes, both the pink crane and white fen strider are Pandaria rares now (hopefully Marticar gets changed to....well, something other than green).

I definitely fear the size of the silkworm footprints! But if the rare is Chibee sized, we might be okay.

The 5.1 information is buried in the riddle thread linked in the first post. :) So I figured it deserved a repost. ;)

Dunno if this has been noted, but if you don't aggro when you flare, you don't seem to aggro when you tame.

At least, when I tamed Savage, I was outside the flare so he just kept pathing. I marked him and followed for a bit. When I started the tame he was walking away from me; I'd put down an ice trap as a precaution, but he just kept walking away until the tame completed.

That sounds like a bug with the flare mechanic. x_x Will get that reported, thanks. :)

The question/problem still remains.....making ROOM for new pets.

Blizz really needs to add more slots.

Since someone said if you mark the rare and pull it out of the flare (or wait for the flare to despawn) you'll be the only one able to see it.

If you do that, and someone is attacking him, will that person lose sight of the beast and subsequently lose threat on it, or will it still be visible while they have threat? And if so, will distracting shot cause them to lose vision?

Argh! That kinda ticks me off, I wanted the pink crane as soon as it was possible to tame and was planning on going to grab him from that temple area in the Jade Forest where they were originally. There is only this one version of the pink cane now, no common mobs of him at all?

Correct, Patrannache is the only pink crane.

Hunting down Glimmer.. wow so not fun  the wasps are mean and so many there. I found one footprint near the bones then it disspeared, couldnt find anymore for a bit, then found one track all the way down to the jade area from the arb area. They move pretty fast and pretty odd to.

*nodnod* I mostly stayed in Camo while I tracked him so I didn't have to worry about wasp aggro. >.<

I'm actually not sure, because there were early reports that if the beast left the flare, it would drop aggro and hide, but I've seen beasts pulled out of flares and NOT disappear, so I do not know. :/ I removed the note from the first post accordingly, since that's now unconfirmed/inconsistent.

I used a flare and the edge of it caught glimmer for a few seconds then he dissapeared, waited on the cd and used the flare ahead of him and nothing. His tracks stayed there for quite a bit but I couldnt catch him again. Flare really has way to long of a timer T.T

Thank you so much for summarizing the new rare beast information. I was having a hard time following the previous thread with how quickly new info was being posted. Blah for me being busy with real life stuff last weekend.

I'm personally not interested in any of the skins, but I know I'll still follow tracks if I see them and hopefully rehome some beasts to other hunters.

Something I kept doing was thinking I was at the end of a trail, throwing a flare ahead, and then suddenly 5 more sets of tracks would appear. I think that was server lag, but bluuuh! Having to wait the flare cooldown out!

I actually recommend tracking as marks in that you can readiness a flare as needed. :D

I just remembered, every spec gets Readiness now!
I feel so very weird, running around in BM and Silencing Shot/Readiness-ing.
