Dire Beast list

Unread post by Quiv »

Do we have one? I have searched this sub forum for a list, with pictures, of the various beasts summoned with Dire Beast in different Pandaria zones and Azeroth continents.

The Thundermaw that spawns in Vale does have the lightning effect, I just never could screenshot it -_-. Also that beaver makes me want one as a pet even worse :(.

It seems the Tol Barad/Deepholm trio are the ones used in dungeons. I tried various in old world, BC and Wrath. I didn't try any raids.

I also tested some of these on Alliance, they were the same.

I certainly haven't seen one. If it doesn't exist that'd certainly be cool to see :)

There was one a long time ago, but it didn't really go anywhere because at the time not all the zones had their own beasts.

That's awesome. Thank you :) So for Pandaria there's a different list for each zone, but for everything else there's only a difference between continents?

And the beaver is the only non-tameable on the list. It's really cool, but a shame there couldn't at least one per zone. Like a stegodon for Kalimdor or a clefthoof or elekk for Outland, etc. :)

I didn't try every single zone in Kalimdor and Eastern Kingdom, but I did sample about 5 on each, and I also did all the Cata zones.

Makes sense for the old continents, I guess it would be a lot of work to go zone by zone and determine suitable beasts for each. Perhaps when someone has spare time later down the road they'll diversify them a bit more?

Yeah, I was thinking that too. Especially when you see regular beasts show up in more exotic zones, like Deepholm, rather than shale spiders and basilisks (and a gyreworm would be cool as a special!). Hopefully they'll pad it out when they have time.

Did you try Vashj'ir? :) The least they could do is give you crabs.

How awesome would it be if in Kalimdor you could get those armed critters... the rats with guns and rabbits with axes and P*dawgs with knives? :)

It makes me hurt inside to see the horrible boxy vanilla creatures next to the super smooth MoP ones.

Hyenas are especially ragged...I hope they get a facelift!

To be honest, I didn't / haven't noticed the difference.

I wonder if it's still in? I only ever had it come out once on the Beta, in Kun-Lai Summit.

I can't imagine the critters are still in but maybe they are some kind of rare summon

When I was taking the above screenshots, I made sure to do it 15 times for each (ugh). Not a large sample but ehh enough for this. Never saw no critters, I wonder if that was when it was "call beast." The beast list is different now than what it was then, sans mushan etc.

I want an ability to summon a horde of those armed critters ala army of the dead, or even if its like murder of crows. MURDER OF CRITTERS
