Hi all

I am the author of the addon Hunter Pets.
It was released in the beginning of this week and I am still adding features to it.

In its current beta version you are able to view "all" pets that have a known displayid (in-game number used to display npc, characters and pets in the Model frame) as you would view it in your stable when you click one of the pets there. The Hunter Pets frame is added to Blizzards own Mount, Pet, ToyBox journal, so it will show up there when opening one of them.

You can filter the list of pets by type, rare, elite, exotic, normal and raid buffs.

Features I wish to implement:

• Track already owned pets (skin) and filter them in the list (currently doing this automatically looks slim, so manually tagging a pet as owned might be the only way)
• Track already owned pets across characters and list which character owns a pet (skin)
• Show their location on their respective maps (easier to farm a pet if you know where it is on the map)

This seems like an interesting idea! Though I'm curious how you manage to get the files since they changed their file system.

It can't be that hard given that all other addons that people normally use have been updated for 6.0.

I think this sounds like kind of a neat idea. I look forward to seeing how you progress with it.

Hehe actually I'm not getting any files at all. I'm using Blizzard's own in-game stuff to show the pets. The list of pets I scraped from wowhead.com
I have of course programmed the addon myself, but 50-60% of my code is copied from the MountJournal code and modified to suit my needs

The only way that would ever happen is if someone writes a list of which petskins are which color. I can see from your link that the image names resemble the skin names that are also on wowhead ? If this is so, are they a direct copy of the names from wowhead ? (The reason I ask is that it would be easy for me write a script that generates the correct data for me to use in the game, but it really comes down to it's relation to the wowhead stuff:)

I think Petopia has stuff that sorts by color. Could probably get the list from Wain or Mania.

I like the addon. It makes it much easier to decide which ones you really want.

I absolutely LOVE the way this addon works. I was using 'improved stable frame' before tonight (it basically makes your stable into a big one-page of pets).

This promises much easier organization!

The only suggestion I can think of, and it might be impossible, is more customization in the Stabled Pets browser.

Right now, it pulls off the actual stable pages, which is awesome. But I would LOVE to sort per buff, or set up different 'bags' of pets, especially with all the new pet buffs mixing me around.

Don't take this as any kind of criticism though! This addon is amazeballs! =D

Edit: In case you use it, Improved Stable Frame works with this addon, too.

Just downloaded this myself and will give it a try shortly! I'm really curious about it!

It is not impossible at all, just takes a bit of coding and time, which I will have less of now that WoD launches.

I don't use Improved Stable Frame, in all honesty I don't really use Stabled Pets Browser myself (added it per request from a user on curseforge) and I sort of felt it fitted perfectly with the Hunter Pets UI for the people who farm pets, so spend a few hours adding it.

So what I'm trying to say is that I try to add any features my users request as long as they fit within the scope of the addon.
Will put "Add organizational options to Stabled Pets Browser" on the drawing board.

Mine does not show the full pet models when clicking on them in the stabled browser.

Also, the filter options for tamed pets and looks seem to do very little if anything. The number of pets only changes by 1-3 when I have 52 tamed.

You'll have to summon all pets in your stable in order for it to completely scan the information needed to filter them.
If they are not fully scanned they will only be names and icons.

I'm really enjoying this addon so far. Even on my non-hunters I have a tendency to pop it open to have it show me which pets are tamable in a zone.

I have summoned all 5 of the active ones and only one will show it's model in the stable browser and they all show up in the list of tameable pets whether the filters are on or off.

Hmm that has to be a bug

Any chance I can get you to copy the content of this file WTF/Account/#USERNAME#/SavedVariables/HunterPets.lua in here or in a PM ?

Noticed an issue in Shadowmoon Valley. It says there's 51 tamable pets in the zone but when you try to sort the pets in the Hunter Pets tab page by only those in the zone all you see is "Oh noes!"

I also do not have a stable browser button on the main UI tab. Wasn't that supposed to be added?
