I just tried today.
Was this on live or beta? The scalehide family isn't live yet but they're coming with the Legion pre-patch. I tamed Arra'chea on the beta so that should carry over to the pre-patch I imagine.

I am pretty sure it was on the Live version as I did not install the Beta.

She won't be tameable on live until 19 July. Very soon though

How am I playing the Live version if I didn't install or select Beta?

The NPC has existed for the last few expansions, at least. It's not new.
It's just that it became tameable in the Legion patch. It should be tameable now that the pre-expansion patch is out.
