GUYS! As of the latest PTR build and 7 years, the animation is FIXED!!! I am SO HAPPY. It isn't even just the old one thrown back in, it's an entirely new animation all together! It looks amazing and how an archer should fire their bow! The Windrunner's would be proud!

I like it too! Jumped on PTR to mess with it, was pleased!

It's so beautiful I could cry! :') I went on PTR to see for myself and it's just....so lovely in motion. MUCH more fitting for a race of elven archers.

(I couldn't help noticing, blood elf eye glows are more intense on PTR right now too. I hope it's intentional! You can hardly see the glow on live.)

It's a shame male blood elves didn't get the same treatment though. Their waists still break when they strafe while shooting... ._.

Ha! Yeah sadly that wasn't fixed. A lot of male BE animations are bad after the model update. They seem super rushed even though they had more time after being delayed. But yes. In motion the animation is great. Especially with the braid, it actually jumps with the release of the bow string! It's so awesome!

I'm very glad I asked that question on the AMA and got a Devs attention.

Like female humans, that stance is far too wide to be a safe method of shooting, but this is a fantasy game. I would be curious to see just how close the new animation is to female humans; I haven't been one since just before Legion (I gave up on my human hunter looking like herself on new models and went back to NE) but it feels very similar.

(Not curious enough to PTR it myself just yet, but that's burnout for you :P)

I'm so glad! It always felt bad to me that blood elves were supposed to be these great archers, but they shot like... well, like that :P

I am not an archer IRL, but it feels like the stance is too wide. However, in any way, shape or form, it is a huge upgrade from what was before. Now I won't be tempted to race change into a Night Elf or Draenei every time I see my belf shoot... Sorry, Alliance!

I'm not a huge fan of the new eyes? I think they are a little too bright. It's kinda like they have mini suns shoved into their heads. I hope it's an option?

Eesh, now that you pointed that out, I have also seen it and can not unsee. There are threads on PTR forums about Belves receiving headlights - both male and female. Hopefully, it's a bug and will not get to live.

Was there any change to the gun animation? In my opinion it was even worse than the bow one.

I'm glad they augmented the eyes. Others here may not like it, but it's how B.Elf eyes are supposed to be.

Alright, I think I've learned what the eye thing is, and it's likely not intentional (sadly, since I quite liked it too).

Apparently on the PTR blood elf eyes will flash at the end of casting a spell, which is a really nice flavour in my opinion, and right now a lot of glow effects are bugged. I think these bright eyes are just that flash effect accidentally left turned on and it'll probably be fixed. I do hope they give them a bit more of a resting glow as well though, I've never thought they had enough.

That makes sense it being a bug. I think if they where going to make their eyes glow brighter they'd polish it up a bit.

That's a cool bit of added flare for spell casting! Now that? That I can get aboard with.

In a way it's a shame to waste an effect like an added eye glow at the end of a cast... to characters that we generally only see from behind.

I dunno, my camera is CONSTANTLY in motion when it's safe for me to do so (during world quests and in lulls in the fight and what not). I see my characters' faces pretty frequently.

I may be in the minority on that one, though :P

Glow isn't that big of a deal to me. If it stays I will miss being able to see their actual eyes. They have really pretty green eyes.
