This may or may not be my first time posting in this thread. I honestly am not sure. I always find it difficult to put my personal business out there with strangers. I know some of you I've known a very long time in eFriendship respects so this isn't easy for me but I reckon maybe if I spill some stuff out on here it may help.
Slight backstory. I have always had female issues. About 10+ years ago I went in for my yearly well woman and left the appointment content because hey ......................... they're ALWAYS normal. Four days later I get a call from my GYN doctor. She wanted me to come in. I pushed her to give me the results over the phone. Lets just saying it was abnormal but she wanted to set up a biopsy right away. Turns out I had pre-cancerous lesions. About 10. They were removed and thus began the every 6 months checks. Couple more biopsies. More checks. Finally started coming up clear.
Fast forward to about 2014-2015 another abnormal pap. Not to mention several nasty periods etc. More biopsies and a LEEP procedure. Things were good for a whole four to five months. Fast forward one more time to July 2016. I have gastrointestinal issues too (I'm a lemon  ) and had to have some procedures followed by a CT enterography (which highlights EVERYTHING) in ones tummy. Including the girly bits. Things were seen on both my ovaries. GI doc sends to GYN doc and immediately calls for a pelvic ultrasound. Results come back. Not the best news but doc wants a follow up US in three months.
Fast forward to Jan 2017. Yes I was late in getting it done. This time though. Results were not good. Like bad. Cysts on left ovary not reduced in size still threatening collapse but they weren't growing either. The right side. There was a solid mass. Not a cyst. An actual mass. Knowing my history and what a huge cancer risk I am doctor immediately calls for surgery to remove the offending mass. Jump to 02/10/17. Surgery date. He reassures me (GYN) this is routine, two incisions remove the mass possibly the whole ovary, done. But if he encounters "issues" he may have to do a third incision and remove more tissue. Out I go and wake up several hours later in the most pain and sickness I've ever had in my life. Get home. The next morning I happen to notice I am beat to shit looking from the belly button down and I have three incisions. Tuesday rolls around and I call his office asking WTF happened. Not only am I swollen still to the point I cannot move but I cannot sit normally, can't sleep yadda yadda yadda and what happened during the procedure since I clearly wasn't awake for the post op instructions. Come to find out he'd done what's called a unilateral salpingo-oophorectomy. In normal terms that means the whole ovary, fallopian tube and a wee bit of the uterus are completely gone. Basically a partial hysterectomy.
Thinking I'd be going back to work Tuesday I called yesterday to see if pathology was back. Nope. :? Anxiety level +20. The nurse, who I love, says "You can't go back on Tuesday! Didn't he tell you??? You can't return to work till March." Excuse me??? March? Anxiety level +20. She states the paperwork has already been sent into HR and to make sure I sign up for state disability and call her back with the reference number. Dumbfound I hang up and call HR. Sure enough. She gives me the information. I try to call but of course like every other state of CA branch couldn't get through. Some crying later and it hits me.
What am I going to tell my guy???? Anxiety level +30.
We both earn pretty good money but he definitely makes more than me. He's already not happy pathology isn't back and he saw how tore up I was /am from the surgery. Already there is a lot of stress there.
I am not one to EVER hide things from anyone. I don't like it. It BOTHERS me. But I am finding it extremely difficult to just go hey, guess what, I'm not working for the next month and there'll be even less money coming in.
I made my pro's and con's list. There are several in each category. But I still have no clue how to broach the subject. If this end up being cancer I find that strangely easier to tell him than this. A month is a long time.

Anyway. I'm sorry this is so long a post guys. Just hoping typing it out will give some inspiration, ideas and anxiety level reduction.

Regardless of my personal outcome. Ladies. Gentleman. Everyone. Get your yearly physicals. If something feels off talk to your doctor(s). I've never been the "it'll never happen to me" person. But I work in the medical field, have my entire adult life and I've seen the sneak attacks diseases can do and what some of these can destroy. Take care of yourselves.

Ok. PSA message over.

zedxrgal, hope all comes out well for you in the end. And it is so very important to get things checked. I lost my mom because she never followed up when they found ovarian cysts. Years later, one ruptured, she went septic, survived the emergency surgery, and died a few days later when her heart gave out. That was the day before thanksgiving in my sophomore year of college. She wasn't there to see me get married, graduate, and i miss her terribly.

Many animal shelters loan out have-a-heart traps for catching feral cats. You could load some up with bait and trap 'im.

At the emergency vet until 1 am. kitten got her spay incision open (jumping on counters despite bathroom confinement). They said it's healed enough to where they don't really need to re-suture, but it's still an open slightly bleeding wound. And I'm supposed to keep her even calmer. *Quietly dies of heart attack and anxiety* She was spayed on Tues, so that means she's not even halfway into the 14 days they say it takes to fully recover.

Just make sure you keep giving her the antibiotics, Dew. I just went through the exact same thing with Jaina, except add in 'emergency trip to 24h vet clinic because incision pulled open and dumped a teaspoon of guck on you, causing panic'. Young cats heal quick.

nach, they gave her the 2 week injectable antibiotic. She's, as they termed her, "spicy." I opted for the shot since pilling her would be a nightmare.

CA has certainly had some very interesting weather this winter. I'm glad we've gotten the rain we've gotten, it goes a long way to help trying to ease our drought, but holy crap are we getting nailed without too much of a break in between rain sessions.

No I live in AZ, we are not used to this much water so fast, the roof was like "nope". I think we have had more water this year than in the last 3 or 4. At least it (hopefully) means the 8 year drought is over. :|

I live in AZ too but we haven't gotten a whole lot. It rained yesterday but it was only heavy-ish like once; mostly it just drizzled.

I just started doing the 2nd part of The NIghthold in LFR and the space boss is really neat! Like the whole old god thing. Too bad these tanks don't seem to know how to do it.

I will call him a Spelf a space elf.

Yesterday was such a shitty day, I hoped today would be better. It has for the most part, but I haven't been able to get ANYTHING FUCKING DONE. I keep having to run all over the place. Going to my dogs therapy session was fine, but why the fuck do I have a dentist appointment at 6pm? Seriously? Then I have to come home to tend to the dog and then MAYBE I can finally get some art shit done.

Also my father is a jackass.

For the past week or so I've been constantly hearing my heart beat/a whooshing sound in my right ear. It's so loud it's been driving me nuts and makes it hard to sleep.. it came on randomly, and I can't really think of anything that I would have done it.

I went to the doctor today, and all she did was look in my ear, say the canal was swollen and that I need to take advil & anti-inflammatory ear drops to get it down. But I tried telling her it was only swollen because I've been sticking my fingers in my ear trying desperately to somehow stop the sound.

I know you should trust your doctor and all but I really don't think this is what I need, nor did she fully understand the issue. I've always had ear problems growing up, and this feels and sounds different than my normal ear infections. It's not the normal throbbing due to swelling, it's not painful, nor is my hearing diminished like when your ear is blocked... It's almost like someones constantly blowing air into your ear to the rhythm of your heart beat.

Hopefully can get in to a specialist soon... just hope it's not permanent. And being the anxious mess I am I always think the worst of something probably minor.

You don't have to always trust your regular PCP. If you feel they gave you an incorrect diagnosis, there is no reason not to go try to see someone else for a second opinion until you figure it out. :)

SO I did a stupid thing and decided to stop taking all my meds for my back injury at once. I have been on them in pretty much constant pain for almost 2 mnths. I have been so sick and mentally could barely carry on a coherent conversation that I figured the pain would be worth dealing with. What I didn't count on was how my body would react to stopping suddenly. last night became horrible and it seriously freaked me out. Needless to say I am back on the meds but working on a taper. going to ask to see a specialist to help with the pain other than throwing oxy at it
