Re: Thread of Accomplishments
Random act of kindness!
So, I've been levelling a baby warrior as a tank and quite enjoying myself. Once I hit 15 I started just queueing dungeons instead of questing, so my character's been parked in Thunder Bluff just for the ease-of-access and solitude. Anyways, earlier today while I was there I noticed a Tauren druid who had...well, let's just say a somewhat rude word as his name. I remember thinking offhand that he probably wasn't a very nice person if he named his character that. Just a passive thought.
I ran a few dungeons, came back to repair and sell stuff in TB. Well I notice this Tauren again, and he walks up to me and asks if I wanted a free bag. I said sure, since I hadn't had time to buy any bags for my warrior yet, and he handed me a 12 slot. I thanked him and thought to myself how strange it was that the person I was thinking badly of earlier just did a nice gesture.
Later in the day I continually seemed to run into him in TB in between dungeons. He'd throw druid buffs on me and sometimes wave, and I'd wave back. Just now I returned from dinging 19, and I see him again. He buffs me, waves, and then whispers me and asks if I'd want some free enchants. My warrior's wearing heirlooms, so it's clear that I have a main on this server, but nonetheless he proceeds to go to the AH, buy the mats he needed, then ask what sort of stats I wanted and gave me a whole bunch of free enchants.
I was so surprised and a touched by his random act of kindness and thanked him profusely. He just said "No problem, pass it forward =)" and I said that I'd be sure to. It was definitely one of those humbling experiences. Can't always judge a player by their name alone. ^^
Anyways, just thought it was kind of a neat little thing to share.

Re: Thread of Accomplishments
Despite being BM and having no experience from raiding apart from a few random short runs I've done in the past few weeks, I was constantly in the top 3 in dps, even outdamaged the MM Hunter we had. (HA!) At one point our Rogue had to go afk for a moment during trash, and asked if we'd be okay without one dps. One of the healers said "well we got Nanyana" (which would be me). Made me go squee inside. XD
Also the Linked Scourge Vertebrae dropped and guess who won the roll! <3

Re: Thread of Accomplishments

As for me, I've been running one random every day on Taigi since I hit 70. So far it's been 3 rounds of UK, lol. But I'm very pleased with myself since I'm doing a decent job for an only level 70 hunter (well, 71 now, haha) and it's kinda exciting.
Plus if I keep doing one every day, by the time I hit 80 I'll have a boatload of badges to use right off the bat ^^
AND, AND, I've gotten a mage to level 42....which means he's now the highest of ANY of the caster classes I've ever raised! And it's FUN now too!

That was the first time I'd gotten to see anyone else tame him, too, so it was really the first time I'd seen him tamed. I'm sure other Krush tamers can attest that you can't see a whole lot when you're actually the one taming him.

Re: Thread of Accomplishments
I parked in SP last night to kinda sorta camp TLPD a lil'....logged in to see Skoll wandering around below me! He was up for a good hour before a couple of horde hunters came by to pick him up. Yay!

(This doesn't seem like much of an accomplishment, but it's a warm fuzzy thing for me. A friend of mine started to fly up from Dalaran to tame him and I *could* have killed this poor guy so my friend could get him, but he was having a hell of a time getting him and I didn't want to make things harder on him, especially since I get the feeling he wanted him more.)

Ubuntu. And I didn't trust your piece of script to begin with, but a quick visit to Google confirmed my suspicions. :PSaturo wrote:Woo! Which dist?

Re: Thread of Accomplishments
There was a Mekgineer's Chopper on the AH for 13k the other day, and I jumped right onto my main to buy it. Figured that if it wouldn't sell in a couple of days I would keep it - I'm still not quite happy to spend such gold on a single mount. When I just logged on her again, I noticed it had sold - for 16k. \o/
Also took part in a Sunwell Plateau run last night. Unfortunately I didn't win anything good. :( But at least I got the achievement and finally got to see the whole place. Last time I went there, the raid disbanded at the Twins. :P

I've been into ICC with both Sara and the druid, made it the to Putricide/Valithria which is pretty standard for a one-night run, I believe. I also got a new ranged weapon - be still my hunter heart!!!

I made enough gold to help hubby get the chopper (his big bucket list item!) and am not-so-slowly making it back now. Once I have Loremaster, Diplomat (missing Timbermaw only) and the Wintersaber mount, my bucket list will be checked off completely!

Re: Thread of Accomplishments

Don't do the Timbermaw rep turn-ins until you hit revered. At that point the kills stop giving you rep, so you have to turn in necklaces and feathers. Just do it with the Wintersaber rep, you'll get tons of necklaces killing those ursas.

I did Kurenai and Sporeggar easily enough. I ran Underbog a bunch of times, up until the nagas. Killed everything and collected all those flowers, run out, reset, repeat. The flowers give great rep. Then when I got really close I did like 5 passes of the naga kill quest, and voila. I had to have the minipet, ya see.

My trick is to just do any grind until I get bored with it. I did the Skyguard rep in three big chunks, when I got bored I went and did other things for a while. Took me several months but hey, I still got it and without getting horribly bored with it.

Re: Thread of Accomplishments
Heh, Kurenai was probably the easiest Outland faction I ever did. Grinded my way to exalted before I hit even 70, and that was before Wrath came out. Luckily I have all the Outland mount factions sorted out, so all I need now is a lot of Sporeggar rep till I've gotten everything I'm after in Outland.Sarayana wrote:Kurenai was even easier, just hit the ogre cave in the centre of Nagrand and then head up to the Ring of Blood area, just back and forth like that. I should have saved the beads for Consortium rep, but oh well. I'll be back, ogres of Nagrand! ;)
And speaking of mounts.. My main now has 88 of them, so she's getting really close. I'm still trying for the Sea Turtle every now and then, but apart from that and some of the PVP mounts, I have no idea how I'm planning on hitting the 100 mark.. Might need to ask Congafury to come to Nagrand with me for a long day of killing each other. XD

Also reached 1750 in 3s yesterday! Not a HUGE deal, but it's the highest I've ever been in 3s.

I dunno, at 75 I already love huntards. Because they make me look good by comparison.Royi wrote: i hate those that live up to the huntard standard. makes us all look bad.
when I enter a random instance, and there's another (MM or SV) hunter who looks at me and says "Aren't you switching to your dungeon spec? BM sux lol."
At the end of the instance, having a meter where I more than doubled his/her damage is a fun feeling. (and fewer deaths, and less aggro issues, and more interrupts...)
