the very fact that the company is creating new dinosaurs to "up" the wow-factor at the park is absolutely 100% in-line with the very story of the first Jurassic Park book. That was a large part of the book: that the dinosaurs were, in fact, not "real" since they were basically manufactured to specifications.

I REALLY want to see Jurassic World. I don't know if I will be able to though. Hope everyone else who is going to see it has fun.

Last movie I watched was, well, Jurassic Park. It was on tv so I just couldn't not watch it.
Think it will always be my top fav

Warm Bodies, because someone recommended it

It's... like Twilight for Zombies, honestly. Good idea, crap movie.

(They also recommended iZombie, which is a bit like Dead Like Me in a way).

I quite liked Warm Bodies! As long as you don't take it too seriously of course. I suppose I can see why it's a bit like Twilight, but I found the Twilight series incredibly boring.

I agree Snowy, we went and saw it last night and it was fun (even if I do have bruises on my arm from my friend getting overly excited about some scenes), is it bad when we want to have the raptor eat someone?

We saw the remake of Poltergeist finally yesterday.

Went in with an open mind, but my brain nearly fell out because of just HOW open I had to keep that mind in order to not walk out on the movie.

There were a few good things in it, but it was like a "remake for the ADHD generation". No simmer, no build-up, let's just get right to the end.

I read a lot of people complain about the acting and the lack of chemistry between the actors playing the parents. The first 1/3 of the film they actually had great chemistry and were fun to watch. They SHOULD have followed the tempo used in the original film. The rest of the film, the parents were just "blank". Traumatic experiences around them, and... nothing. No realistic reactions.

I presume everyone knows how the original ends? Well, this one ends more or less the same way, but with an incredibly inappropriate "happy" feel to it.

I'm not against reboots/remakes. Some have been excellent.
But when you remake a "classic" film, it is your duty to do something even better. You have to find ways to improve on the original.
Most of the remake felt like one of those "Insidious" movies: low budget, half-hearted acting, and not particularly impressive SFX.

Well, that's how I see it.

Oh, and being a musician, well.. the score really sucked BADLY. It was just lots of noise, lots of drums, and completely forgettable themes (when there were themes, that is). This was a paint-by-number filmscore, something churned out in an afternoon. The original film's score was a masterpiece. I'm glad I wasn't the composer on this one... actually, I'd never have accepted the job. I feel sorry for the shlub who took the contract. Though I saw it coming, since he was the composer responsible for the atrocity that was the score to Prometheus.

Whoa! long film review!

the tl:dr version - saw it, didn't hate it, didn't love it, wouldn't buy the dvd.

Saw Jurassic World and it was really fun :) I loved how they kept the original score and referenced the first park. My only "niggle" as that the main character ran that whole film in heels and not only did she NOT get stuck in that mud she managed to run the whole film without them breaking...come on!!! Genetical engineered dinosaurs i can believe - running a whole film in heels NOPE. Crossed a line between fiction and reality there

As awesome as Jurassic World really was, the characters were certainly, uh... not memorable. Best character being Chris Pratt, but even then I don't remember his name and he was only 'okay'.

Oh lord it's been awhile haha!

I've watched so much! but I guess I'll just go over the most recent.

Star Wars The Force Awakens=A New Hope 2.0 and I didn't care for Kylo Ren as a character (whinny little b*tch.) The movie as a whole was entertaining, but that's all it was to me, a fun movie I might never see again unless I'm doing a Star Wars marathon.

I also watch PsychoPass and PsychoPass 2 OH MY GOD IT WAS AMAZING but then again I love psychologically messed up stuff and dystopian societies and this was a combination of the two

Yesterday I watched all of Madoka Magica that's on Netflix. I'm not sure why that anime is so popular? It was super trippy, and the movie Rebellion was a bit unsettling. Everyone is also like "THE INCUBATOR IS EVIL" but I found him to be the best character, but maybe that's because most of the girls were far too emotional for my tastes (ESPECIALLY Horuma) and he was so scientific about everything and I'm a science major  and GOD THEIR HEADS WERE SO SQUARE. Also, I do not like Evangelion AT ALL so maybe I'm just not a big fan of these supposedly "deep meaning anime" but I liked Madoka a lot more than Evangelion. What ever deep meaning people pull out of Evangelion is such bull in my opinion XD
