Anyone like rocks?

Just wondering if anyone around here like collecting rocks and minerals? I've been into rocks ever since I could remember but didn't really start collecting until my late teen years, so my rock pile is a bit on the small side but has some real stunners in there. I'd like to show you them and a few of my favorites.

This was to big (and really heavy) so right now is out by the living room computer where my boyfriend's mother works. Its a huge quartz crystal formation:

Most of them are jaspers and agates and some petrified wood but I don't know about the small ones since a friend gift me those without labels on the stones. At the moment I'm trying to get a facet grade Texas Mason Topaz which is a pale blue color and if you don't know what facet means, it means it can be cut into a gemstone for jewelry. I don't have a picture of the stone until tomorrow but this is what Texas Mason looks like:

It can come in many colors to blues, whites (sometimes even looking like ice) and champagne colors.

Well that's all I have to show you guys and I hope there is some rocks you guy collect. I can't be the only rock head around here. xP

Neat, I like the Garnets. I have a few rocks but most of my collection is small fossils. Nothing fancy just a few old fish and some mollusks. The rocks are Tiger's Eye, Quartz (different colors), and a solid green rock with black bands in it, I forget what it's called.

I had some fossils I found from a lake as a kid. Some shell imprints and stuff but they ended up shattering over the years. ;w; I guess my mom keeping them by the potted plants didn't keep them all nice. She had that don't bring dirty things into the house kinda thing. >.<

All mine are currently packed away, but I have some more expensive ones. I loved visiting the stand everytime I went to the craft fair or Green Dragon. They knew me, maybe not by name, but definitely remembered me. Gave me a little discount on my last purchase before I moved as well. (I bought a fossil. I've always wanted a fossil. A little piece of history in your hand... millions of years old. While it wasn't much of a discount, I think he knocked off about 5$ making it only 70$ or so.)

Lemme see if I can find any pics of my stuff. Pulling them from FB. I don't remember the names off hand, also missing several. I know a I have two? other blue ones that aren't pictured on FB and if they aren't on FB then I probably don't have pictures on my phone of them. I like blues and metallic stuff. Shimmery and multi colored.

Obviously these two are labeled, Bismuth and Alum. I absolutely love the way Bismuth forms. I didn't know that it wasn't it's natural shape, this is what happens when it is extracted and put in water? if I remember correctly. Either way, it's amazingly beautiful.

I also have the typical gemstones as well packed away somewhere. I loved collecting them as a kid, and also went out and collected rocks I found as well. I have a lot of basic quartz, some other random things. Eventually I want to get a nicely lit display case to put them in.

x.x Its ben a while since I last posted but I just love your rock collection! You have things I don't think I can ever afford XD

One thing though is I met a rock nut here in Texas and I'm planing on running her rock shop online for her. So if anyone here likes rocks you can get some pretty nice ones. (she even has a 200 pound calcite boulder that you don't want to know the price tag for xD)

Also Seilahyn, if you don't know names of your rocks you have there are Facebook groups that would identify anything just from a picture, I was able to find out that I had a ruby rather then a garnet for one of my cut stones. If you are interested I can pm you the group or show them your photos if your not on FB.

I had a brief "rockology" phase as a kid, but parents didn't support it and I kept my little collection of shiny minerals for a while (I had no idea about origins and names), before getting rid of it.

I don't collect rocks, though I do have a few. My favourite is one my ex bought me that is a big ammonite fossil with citrine some of the chambers. I'll try to get a picture.
