Season's Greetings
As a holiday gift, I just wish to share a short orchestral setting of "Puer natus" (a child is born) that I did a few years ago. unfortunately, this is not a recording by a real orchestra, but it's the next best thing - it's me playing all the parts.

So to all my Petopian friends, wherever you happen to be on our beautiful blue bubble of water and air floating through space, I wish for you only the very best at this time and for the upcoming year.

I like it!
*google* oh, it's a traditional medieval song. It must be very interesting, making orchestral arrangements.

Normally, I write original contemporary classical music, this was, exceptionally, one of the few arrangements I've ever done.

Re: Season's Greetings
yes, I was aiming for a sort of modern approach to writing in a medieval style. related to ( in case you happen to know) the Respighi "Ancient Airs and Dances".

thank-you again, Wain.Wain wrote:I don’t know it but I’ll look it up, thanks. You should do more, I love music from that period
You'll love the Respighi, those are all dances written by other composers from the medieval period, but he reset them for small orchestra, orchestrated them with the flair and colour for which his own original works are so well known (my favourites of his pieces are "Pines of Rome" and "Feste Romane" - both really worth listening to, because they're great music, but also because it's interesting to hear the tremendous influence his style has had on movie music).
