My net is too intermittent today for me to listen online.

I was at the dentist this past Monday to have my teeth cleaned and the hygienist got talking about her son, who is a musician. They live in a condo, so when they want to listen to loud music they go out driving together and crank up the Led Zeppelin. I started laughing because this is a very sedate-looking 50ish woman (and by the way, laughing is a bad idea while having your teeth cleaned) and she said, "Oh, that's probably too old for you."

"No, no," I said. "I was listening to Rush on the way over." So then we had a great conversation about Rush's drummer (whose name I always forget) and how Led Zeppelin compared to Robert Plant's later solo stuff. I actually tend more towards Iron Maiden and assorted speed metal, but it was still a fun conversation.

Oh, and can I steal that smiley, Vephriel?

I enjoy Sirius/XM.. Usually have it on the Bluechannel/BB King Radio... In the mornings I listen to Howard Stern.. then just crank music all day long

For relaxed listening I usually listen to J-pop, Enigma, Enya, Celtic Woman, etc.... When I am in a rock mood I listen to the heavier stuff like Gwar, Early Metallica, Slipknot, etc... When I'm feeling my age though I listen to stuff from the 20's -70's. Mostly random stuff ranging from the Andrews Sisters to Jimi Hendrix, Janice Joplin, Earth wind and fire, BB king, Hank williams Sr/Jr, Jonny Cash, etc... ANd when I'm feeling manical I set Vagner on a loop.

That's odd. When I'm feeling maniacal I set Queensryche's "Operation Mindcrime" album on a loop.

To be honest, though, these days I listen to more nerd and geek music than anything else: They Might be Giants, Ookla the Mok (which is not the same as Ooklah the Moc, by the way), MC Frontalot, Jonathon Coulton ...

But I keep a decent bit of hard stuff in my rotation, including not-at-all rock like Bigod 20. (Shoot -- now I have to go listen to "The Bog" again.)
