Hmm..I only see 2 fingers on the top? Or are we talking about something different?

It looks different from the wyvern to me in any case

I could've sworn the old pterrodax had the same paw-like structure as the old bats. Oh well, so much for six-fingered bat dinosaurs. I still want one though.

Oh yeah, it's different, but I meant they copied the concept - it has a kind of hand at the wing point. I suspect it's because they, wyverns and bats all had their wings adapted from the same core model design. From memory the old skin files were very close in format, too.

Looks like it was a small build. The build that Muffinus was talking about should be much bigger.

This build may also be the last build where it is possible for us to see changes to the skins that we've taken issue to. This is supposed to be the last build that deals with npcs and models, so either there'll be changes made or there won't be.

A new model for Rhonin. He died in the attack on Theramore, but Jaina encounters a vision of him elsewhere.

A new model for Uther, whom has also received an updated tomb.

Wow, am I ever impressed by the elemental revamp! :) I love how true the artist stayed to the original while adding a unique little flair. The new shape fits them very well and gives them an interesting appeal without deviating too much from the spirit of them.

I'd love to see the same person redesign the other basic elementals now, they sorely need it.

EDIT: We just seem to be missing the dark blue colour

Why is Uther getting a revamp? is his ghost poping up again? or more timetravel?

Hmmm, I can't see the model file for the new elemental in the latest build. They must be pulling it from a cache :/

An updated dark blue skin definitely isn't in the files, either. It's a bit different to the rest in that it has different arm band patterns, so it's not just a recolour. Hopefully it's coming, but if it's like some of the other recolours they may just replace it with a purple one or dark brown one or something :P

Uther's tomb has had more renovations than most places in the game. I think his ghost is bored and has a lot of money. Maybe he gets on a lot of celebrity home reno shows.

We don't know why Uther is coming back. Hopefully it doesn't involve Sylvanas :/

They were advancing the plot with the new Lich King in Legion, so it could be related to that, too.

That's also possible. I suspect that if Blizz is going that route with Bolvar and the Ebon Blade, then there'll be an even bigger riot made by the players than the one in the Legion Beta when Tirion was datamined as the Fourth Horseman.

No one was that happy with the knowledge that he could still talk to them in their minds. :/ (I'm talking about the DK not the players btw)

All the old (non-BfA) pterrordax and skyscreamer NPCs should now be added to the database. If the devs make them tameable (and we don't know that they will), it'll be easy to re-check them all for taming. Well, except for Skrox, who won't be available again until Un'Goro Madness in March next year, and whose level could well increase by 10 in BfA and so will remain untameable anyway.

Comparing the old models with the matching new models, it really does feel like they could be valid replacements. It certainly seems like the artist chose the colours specifically based off the originals, and while they have completely different skeletons, I don't think I'd mind seeing the classic ones replaced with them. That old bat model base just really hasn't aged well.

I think I personally still like the Skyscreamers the best, their faces have a lot more appeal to me with those long toothy maws. :D But the BfA ones are growing on me, they just have a different vibe and attitude.

I also wouldn't mind if they were replaced with the new models. Like you said, the old model hasn't aged very well and the colors of the new pterrodaxes match pretty well.

I agree! They're good updates - maybe a little lighter on the purple stripes than the originals, but mostly faithful. So I wouldn't mind seeing the old ones updated, though I know some like the old skeleton. I actually prefer the new model over the skyscreamer one, but it's purely a matter of personal taste, both models are really well done. I just hope that the skyscreamers don't waddle along the ground when they run after you but their relationship to the rylak skeleton / animations makes me worry that they will.
