So, I tamed the bad paint job beetle, and I actually really like it. It is still a shame the the Christmas beetle turned into that, but, it's a fine beetle in it's own right.

Ok even I, champion of smaller hunter pets, have to admit the Marsh Gulper tames up too small. It's the dark frog on the left, battle-pet is on the right:

Yeah, I am fairly certain that they are going to fix the small pets.

i don't know if this is the right thread...
I thought the battle rez was switching species.
However, I can't seem to find it on any pet at all.
Is it simply gone now? Hunters can no longer offer a critical amount of support?

There are no pets that have brezzes. We have known that this is going to happen for a while.

@Darthkitana Yes, that one was found a while back. Thanks for the post, though :)

well, I guess I can release my quilen back into the nature of Pandaria.
I never liked him as a pet and only used him for the rez.

I really hope the new frogs become tameable as well, they're nice and about the same quality as the MoP toads.
More than anything, the big Dire Toads need to be tameable, though. It feels like they are the model the family was really made for, yet they aren't tameable.

As an aside, I still want my black silithid pet. :(

I laughed so hard at this. I love how broken new tames inevitably are, every time they add stuff. This is like the opposite of what happened when they made devilsaurs tameable!

Speaking of frog sizes...
is it my imagination or are some of our pets a bit larger than they used to be?
a guildy and I were chatting and we were both standing around in Dalaran (I wasn't on a hunter at the time) and she mentioned that her pet looked considerably larger than she remembered it.
I logged to my hunter, and yes, I also noticed that his pets seemed larger than normal.

It's possible, though I haven't seen any difference with my pets. It may be specific ones.

Why are the spiders frosted? They look as though they have a thin sheet of semi-opaque ice covering them. So far I've seen this on the barbed red spider, the black widow, the fire tarantula and the jungle spider and I'm going to guess the others of those types are the same? Is this something wrong on my end or do other people see this too?

Also, I wanted to add this...

I suspect the 'frosting' was a failed attempt by the art team to add shininess as an after-effect, i.e. they make the main skins flat and dull and then add a shine layer. If so, it only made them a lot worse.

OK, I think I got it. Every beetle that was this orange copper colour:
http://www.wow-petopia.com/look.php?id= ... abskingold
(which didn't have a direct replacement)
was changed to the new gold:
http://www.wow-petopia.com/look.php?id= ... carab2gold

It seems that whoever did the swap did it purely by file names, since they're both labelled 'gold' but the former isn't in any way gold.

The purple one is a more obvious swap and just one I missed.

All the replacement looks should be swapped in now and the older looks retired.

Please let me know if you find any errors :)

I believe a number of the older looks may 'unretire' again soon (or at least in a future patch) as alternatives for people who prefer them. I'm guessing probably rares, like with the old looks in Legion, but I don't know that for sure. What I think would be fun is if they had a Bronze Dragonflight artefact that causes targets to revert to older looks :) But that may be too complicated.
