I'm so so happy about this!!!

Much better than the phoenix which may as well have been identical to the guild vendor one. Also I've been *dying* for that exact model of unicorn to be used as a mount, so I'm over the moon about it! :D (it's perfect for my mage)

I do think it's a shame that neither of the new ones will be able to fly, it would be a nice addition if they let the unicorn fly with little hoof clouds or something, like the windsteed (they use the same skeletons and animations after all).

Either way, these are better choices in my opinion than what they had originally.

Yuck. Totally yuck. Last thing I wanted was a fel-bird.

I WAS gonna go after 400 mounts to get the other horse, now, nope.

On the bright side, Blizzard and all the QQ saved me a lot of time and gold.

Only if the clouds where rainbow coloured. It's a unicorn after all!

I must admit, I'm a little disappoin.... no, more surprised they did use the feltallon this expansion in a not to dissimilar way as they used the voidtallon mount.
I mean, they could have added some old mysterious burnt out nests on Argus, have some egg fragments spawn in one once every so often (ala camel figurine). Some could just crumble, but every so often inspection could draw out an enraged (and fel twisted) grief stricken mother who still guards her nest long after the planet fell into... fel? Defeat, Tame, Save her and claim her as a mount. etc. This could have been done is a number of ways really..

It's such a inexplicably themed mount, to not use it's fel theme within it's implementation is almost a travesty

That said, the fact the felhawk was also a "mount numbers" award is not lost on me, I just lament of lost opportunities at times. ;)

While I think it was a shame that they didn't try harder with the spectral phoenix to start with, a non flying replacement....Hmmm. But as Veph suggest, oh my! A flying horse2' with little cloudy hooves like the windstead, that would be SO good. :D

Yeah, I suspect they just didn't have time to consider it by that point or perhaps they would have. Legion was the best opportunity to use that mount in a thematic manner, but since that's no longer an option I'd say that making it the mount reward is better than 'a fel fire bird is in Zandalar/Kul Tiras just because'.

*Reads the mount text of Feltalon*

I bet there's a pissed off fire bird somewhere because her babies got experimented on!!!

I don't mind these at all tbh. But yeah missed opportunity as Spiritbinder says. Aren't we abit over fel-everything now?

Agree with you, The Hearthsteed recolour was so much nicer. :(

Really disappointed to get dumped with yet another old Firelands recolour. IMO all the Firelands recolours look awful because they only altered the mounts colour, not the particle effects (the original orange ones are great).

They have so many wonderful mounts/designers and it's just disappointing to be dumped with a zero effort Firelands jobby yet again. What's next - A blue Firehawk/Flametalon? Why not actually take some time to give us something more exciting? Give us the Stormwing Mount (Blue version of the Spellwing)? Recolour the actual Raven Lord instead of the Flametalon? Recolour a Timereaver? Take the MoP CM Phoenix and make it spectral/recolour? A spectral dragon/hippogryph? Recolour a cash shop mount? And that's just a tiny amount of possibilities off the top of my head.

I really don't mind recolours when they're done well (Azure Cloud Serpent) - the Firelands ones are just terrible, and I assume the only reason we keep getting dumped with them is because they're already made, unused and took next to zero effort on their part.

I know people are going to start on about how we should be grateful to get anything, but honestly I find that Feltalon to be more of an insult for 400 mounts than getting nothing. Good on you if you're excited for Firelands recolour number six, but in no way did it deserve to be the 400 mount reward.

/disappointed
/endofrant

On a lighter note I do like the 100 exalted mount, even if its a bit plain - The unicorns are the only tame I'm really excited for with BfA so it will be nice for my Hunter.

P.S On the topic of Voidtalons... I really hope they never add more WoD style voidtalon/rare spawn mounts with too many spawn locations ever again. Praying something spawns at the location you're camping was never a fun mechanic to me, not in Sholazar Basin, and not in WoD. Forcing you to AFK in groups so you can cover all the spawns isn't fun either (and impossible to do after the expansion ends because no groups). Almost as bad as removing Exalted rep mounts in Legion and expecting you to RNG box for them; I'm almost surprised we can't buy loot crates for exalted faction mounts at this point.

Pretty sure this one is going to be another store mount, like the year of the Dog one.

Yep. The in-game source lists it as being a store mount.
