It's odd that the tameable 'Zandalari druid cat' NPCs have on them because the new model has none. I assume they simply haven't been updated to the new model yet.
Question: what are these creatures called in the game? Is there a generic name I can give them?
They're clearly not mammals. Maybe they should be in Scalehides, if not in a family of their own. :/

The unarmored version was datamined from the build that came out a week after the tigers were turned into these beasts, so Blizz probably just hasn't gotten around to changing them.
They are called Dazarians or Sabertusks. There are different types like Sabertusk Empress, Dazarian Stalker, Dazarian Giantfang, Sabertusk cub, etc.
Scalehides would be a good fit, I think. Perhaps that is why the family isn't Tenacity? They are currently in the Cat family. I have them listed under such on the main list.

Thanks! I'll call them Sabertusks for now. "Dazarian" feels more like a name given to the creatures belonging to that specific locale, since "Dazar" is used in names for the area. But they could be given an entirely new generic name.

You bet
the Sabertusks are located in western Zuldazar along the main road. Dazarians are located throughout northern Zuldazar and on the southeastern hills/cliffs of Zuldazar.

Sabertusk definitely feels right, since they're feral dinosaur-like creatures that vaguely resemble sabertooth tigers. Also of note, the "bear" form should be called Thornhide, if you include those since that's what they're called in the game too. Only two examples, being Thornhide (blue, green) and Thornhide Bull (white).
I sincerely hope they all become tameable. Such awesome beasts are what we've needed for a long time.

Yep. They're located in The Preserve and down in Zeb'ahari. I'm sure they'll be tamable at some point

So apparently a certain raid boss can be summoned via the Demo level 90 talent Inner Demons:
Voice Line and all.

That's right! I saw it a week or so ago on the State of Warlocks article on Wowhead, though he was the only one they mentioned. Would be neat if there were other notable demons that could be summoned

Careful there, little warlock. We wouldn't want your arrogance to be your undoing.

It is neat while it lasts. Blizz has a proper alpaca model on the way, just a matter of when

Pin Cushion, who was originally the Hardened Brineshell, was made tamable with yesterday's build!
Unfortunately, he loses the anchor and tridents after being tamed.

Just tamed mine the other day.
It's too bad the crab shank from Legion doesn't work with these guys

Blizz made the Windshorn Grizzlies and Bloodmaul tamable with today's build. Though it was expected to happen, the tawny bear variant is now available.
Bloodmaul has a unique model atm. Prior to taming him, he has arrows stuck in his hide and spurts of blood, and this persists after taming

Hail Storm is a new gryphon added with this build (and tamable). Thus far, he is the only one that uses the maroon-grey variant

Where's this bear located? I want to see this blood spurt you speak of. No particular reason, of course.
Honest.
