Politically slanted ads?

I don't know if there is any way to regulate ads that show up on the site, but there have been politically slanted ones that don't seem appropriate.

The ads are all Google Adsense, so it's unlikely I'll ever see the same ads as you. I know if an ad is inappropriate you can click on the little icon in the top corner of it and report that to Google, but I'm unsure what else can be done in this case.

Did the ad contain themes that are inappopriate on a family site? If I have the code maybe I can do more.

Yeah, apparently the algorithms that be think I'd enjoy some political attack ads. I think it's not appropriate, but it's not like "adult store" inappropriate at least. I've reported it but it keeps coming back.

Ah :/ I guess they'll follow you wherever you go that has Google Ads :/ If I had the code I might be able to identify the vendor that Google is serving and block them specifically, but I'm unsure.

I only get political ones here, though. It's weird. The one that's been plaguing me here is not popping up now, so maybe it's gone. Now the algorithm just thinks I'm a pregnant psychiatrist in the market for a bed. Yeah.

Edit: Well, no. It's still here. I don't know how to find what the code for it is though

There should be a little (i) info symbol in the top right corner of the ad that allows you to send Google feedback on it. I think the code is also embedded in that but I'm not very experienced with that.

If the info thing is missing I'd worry that you have an adware infection :/

I don't see an (i) but, there's an option to report it and/or give feedback. I don't see anything about code for it though. This is the link from the ad, which you probably shouldn't follow. I have a screenshot, but I won't post it publicly because political divisions are bad.

Google based ads are typically based on things you've searched for/looked at while online. The people who run websites don't have control over what's being shown through them because they're "personalized" to the customer browsing a site that uses Google ads. If it really bothers you a lot and the reporting thing isn't working, you can always run adblock; I use it because so many ads contain viruses and pop-ups are annoying and bad for your computer.

Ok, well, I don't normally look at the kind of thing the ad is about, so it was odd to see that. But I normally run AdBlock Plus and uBlock Origin. I turn them off for sites I want to support, however.

I really appreciate that you do that, too :) Ads keep free sites running.

Google's algorithms can be a bit weird in what they think you want to see. :/
