help with posts

I was hoping someone could tell me why I cant add a sig to my posts when i go to the edit sig in the control panel it just says i dont have permition to do this, is this a forum rep thing that one earns or am i just doing something wrong?, thanks for any help

We had a rash of fake accounts using their signatures to advertise spam sites. So right now, you need to make 5 posts (to let us know that you're going to stick around) before you can set your signature.

I thought you got a better error message about it, though. I'll see what I can do to clear that up. Sorry for the confusion!
