Magnakilro's Guide to Solo'ing ZG Mount Bosses!

I'm sure many of you out there want these two beautiful mounts: Swift Razzashi Raptor and Swift Zulian Tiger. However, the bosses are rather annoying. Here is my surefire method for destroying those bosses and claiming what you deserve!

What you'll need: Tenacity pet (any one of them is fine)
BM spec for pet survivabilty
Misdirection
Feign Death
Aspect of the Viper
Once you have all these things you are ready to begin!

Bloodlord Mandokir and Ohgan:
Normally u'd have to fight both of these guys at the same time and deal with his gaze attack...well not anymore!
Here's what you do:
Step 1: Clear the boss's room of all adds except the speaker (if ur lucky u'll get a Razzashi Hatchling mini pet from the raptors)
Step 2: Position ur pet to the left of the stairs (as if ur facing them) and set to defensive
Step 3: Pull Mandokir by killing the speaker and allow pet to take Mandokir's aggro
Step 4: Make sure Ohgan is aggro'ed to u then run up to the top of the steps
Step 5: Walk to the left then walk BACKWARDS to the ledge below....this will cause Ohgan to evade bug and stare at u stupidly for the rest of the fight
Step 6: Turn on AoV and start attacking Mandokir. Make sure to keep ur pet under the effects of mend at all times. The reason ur in AoV is that u want to generate as little aggro as possible. If u over-aggro Mandokir he will port u to him and likely kill u. So ya....just carefully plug away at Mandokir from the safety of ur ledge. Use FD if aggro starts gettin too high. Also...from ur lofty perch his gazes prove NO THREAT to u...just keep firing. Just keep firing till he dies
Step 7: Jump down and kill Ohgan
Step 8: Loot the boss
Step 9: Rinse and repeat every 3 days till mount drops
Step 10:?
Step 11: Profit

High Priest Thekal:
Normally for this 2 phase boss, you would hafta kill all the named ppl within 10 secs or so of each other or they rezz the fallen. Well with this strategy, you will remove the adds from phase 1. Here's what you do:

Step 1: Clear the room of all trash
Step 2: Position pet near the entrance archway of the room and set to PASSIVE
Step 3: Get within max range of Thekal
Step 4: Cast Misdirection on your pet
Step 5: Fire two auto shots at thekal then untarget him....this should send him after your pet while the adds attack you
Step 6: When Thekal reaches your pet cast Feign Death....if done right, the adds will reset but Thekal will still attack ur pet
Step 7: get up and set ur pet back to follow so he won't reset the boss if he's knocked back
Step 8: attack Thekal till he dies
Step 9: Thekal goes into tiger mode....keep mend up at ALL times and just go to town on him....kill summoned adds. This is the phase he casts his knockback in so make sure ur not near that archway anymore. Just kill thekal in this phase to win
Step 10:Rinse and repeat till mount drops
Step 11: ?
Step 12: Profit



Well...there you have it! This is my method for solo farming ZG mount bosses. I managed to get the raptor with this trick (still working on the tiger tho) GL!

Out of curiosity, what's the level requirement for this? As in, what's the lowest level you could be to potentially manage this?

Ah, thanks so much for this awesome guide! I want both of these mounts but have failed in previous solo attempts. This info sounds like it could definitely work in my favor. ^^ I'll try it next time I'm feeling adventurous. :3

for lvl...lvl 80 is preferred but u could try it 75+ I guess (I've only done it at 80)

AHH u can do it without killing the adds at the same time? LEGEND!

I specced for pet tanking in BM (duelspec), and levelled a croc just to do this (Billcrocsby).

I just wanted to say, when you kill the bosses with these methods, it is actually against Blizzard's ToS, and you can get banned. Of course, I've killed the raptor ZG boss on my warlock at least 50 times so far using this method in the past... just don't make it too public when you're doing it, all I'm saying.

How can you do this solo? I just looked it up and it's a raid..meaning you need more than one just to get in there. Moar info,please? (That raptor mount is soo sweet on a Night Elf.. )

Usually you just have a friend group up with you, convert it to a raid, and then you can go in by yourself.

The friend doesnt even have to be online anymore! You can just ask a guildie to relog to an alt, invite him, convert it to a raid and then your friend can relog again.

You stay in groups when you log off nowadays.

I have found that your raptor one works but when i do the feign death bit on the tiger guy the adds don't reset they just own my crab. any clues to what i have been doing wrong? does the guy have to hit my pet before i feign or not?

I've been using Frostheim's strategies for these guys which makes the fights last a bit longer as you're dealing with the actual mechanics of the fights, but they are still soloable. I'm hesitant to condone these strategies just to make the fights simpler...

@ Cow: are you far enough away from your pet when you FD? Cuz you may be too close when you try it.......if this is the case, try FD'ing from where ur pulling thekal from.
