Olm the Wise- anyone know?

Anyone know where Olm is making his new appearence from the grave? I gave up on him after an ally tamed him moments before i discovered way back before Cata (decided to settle for a winterspring owl when i lvled up a bit) and now im totally bummed that i didnt keep camping.. i love spirit animals! (animals that are ghostly and spooky or are unique in that aspect, not the classification Spirit Beast)

I wouldn't bother right now. It's only on PTR that he's like this, not Live servers. So it wont be til 4.0.6 that we'll find him.

I submitted a ticket regarding this because I just had Olm restored on my ally hunter, and I never saw him on my horde and would like to get him if possible. My ticket has been escalated for several days now.. so once the GMs come up with a response I'll let ya know.

My ticket was also escalated and when I got a response today after waiting 3 days they said they couldnt go back that far to see if I had tamed him or not. =(

Should I try again and try for a different GM? or will that piss the first one off and mark my account as being pushy?

I would love to just say 'hey um yea, i had Olm back before cata and i would really like him back' (even though i saw him but never tamed him) and they just say 'yea sure' and restore xD That'd be terrible though... ppl would be using that to get all the rares they wanted but could never find D:

It doesn't work like that Xakaal, so there's no use in trying to fool them.

A pet restoration isn't the GM magically creating the pet out of thin air and attaching it to your character, they go back and look at the physical records/files they have and just restore that exact one to you. If it never existed in your stables, they don't have the information, and can't restore something that isn't there.

I did tame him. I remember I found him, looked online to find out how to tame him, went at war with his faction and was able to tame him. It was a long time ago and many,many tamed pets in between though.

If it was in Vanilla/TBC then they probably wont be able to pull it up if you've been quite active with tamimg pets

I wouldn't count on that at all. Blizzard still has records of the characters I created six years ago and pets I tamed three years ago so I have no doubts they can find anything based through a person's whole account history.

What I think is cool about Olm is that he shares a similar graphic to the huntress owls in warcraft 3 that you could send up to a tree and extend your LOS. :O

I was having trouble finding this out, so I thought I'd post here instead of making a new thread.

Where exactly is Olm spawning on the PTR? I've tooled casually around Felwood a bit looking for him, but I'm not sure where exactly I should be looking. Is he in his old area?

At the moment, Olm *isn't* spawning on the PTR. The only reason we know he has a changed skin is that people have him as a tamed pet in their stable.
