Sandstone Drake Animations

Using the Vial of the Sands a lot it's fairly easy to spot differences. In this case, animations where they're not meant to be: the two standing idles occur during flight now too, both idle and moving. It's not easy to get shots of, but it's definitely there.

I've tried idling with other drake mounts but it only seems to happen on the Sandstone, though I don't own any other stone drakes as yet to test. Personally I think it's quite neat and adds variety to flight. Please don't change this, Blizz!

That's actually pretty cute. I've been using other mounts lately and so I didn't see this change. I'll have to try it out next time I log in.

Worth a shot, I'll need to download FRAPS or something as I'm visiting my mum for Xmas and then hope he does it for me

That's crazy lol. When I read your original post I mounted up on mine but didn't see these animations, just the normal, also tried it on my Phosphorescent, it didn't do it on him either. Interesting how yours does it though, might be something on your end, like how sometimes we see stuff our friends and guildies can't. Thanks for posting the vids though so I could get to see what it looks like with those animations in the 'wrong' spots

That's really interesting... I didn't notice anyone else's drakes doing this either while I sat around Stormwind yesterday, I was looking on purpose. Seems really odd.

Hate to be breaker of cool news. But do you have the haunted momentum in your bags? (sorry for bad spelling) Because I get this animation on my warlock who carrys item, and every time it tries to summon the ghost it does a random stand still animation while flying. It does not do this on any of my other chars with a sandstone drake. But my other chars do not have a haunted momentum.

... Well fel. I did have a memento with me and tested putting it away just now and, as suspected, the animations did sadly stop. I guess I'd overlooked the idea since drakes don't have a cower animation >_> Well that's me feeling like an idiot. That memento causes a lot of un/desired weird effects without realising it, huh? Still, going to keep it with me in that case, because I do like those random animations

It's weird though that it doesn't affect your other mounts. I wonder what's up with that...

That'd be because the character is the mount, thus their animations would be "transferred" to the sandstone drake, whereas they still have all their animations when sat on the back/in the seat of their other mounts, and so would cower as normal when the haunt spawns

Oohh that makes sense.

Still, I hope they keep this little 'glitch', I wanna use it too when I get my own Sandstone Drake.
