Need Opinions! 5 Mail Sets... Decisions...

TL;DR: Which set do you think looks best, as far as being striking, appealing & matching the pets/mount?

Heya folks! I've been wanting to mess around with my hunter's transmog set for awhile. She's currently in this, the s1 hunter set, one of my favorite (if not my absolute favorite) armor sets of all time:

+ Rhok'Delar. And yes, the guild tabard was changed to match :lol:

However, the set matches none of my pets nor mounts, it's hard finding matching boots/belt, and lastly I'm planning on hopefully getting a Bloodbathed Frostbrood Vanquisher next week. My main pet is Karoma (Shiver), the blue ghost wolf spirit beast, although I've been using my diseased/skeletal hawk a lot recently too. So, the set should match:

This Dragon,

<--that wolf, and

<--that bird.

Here are the options I've come up with in WoW ModelViewer. If you think a mixture of gear would work, shout which pieces; any advice about a melee weap (staff, or perhaps polearm, preferably one that hides the enchant glow) is welcome. I was aiming for a sort of "skeletal" or bone look, wound up with some "blue" pieces and tried out a variety of mix-and-match looks. NOTE: the shoulders on the blue set need replacing; I didn't realize they were shammy-only >.<

One: Zod's Bow, Bone & Blue Pieces

Two: Crypt Fiend Slayer, full blue set

Three: Black & Bone

Four: Blue, Black & Bone

Five: Crypt Fiend Slayer, blue/brown /w Headdress of Inner Rage

Edit--on the blue sets, I could also use "Blizzard Keeper's Mitts," which are identical to the blue ICC shaman set gloves.

dont know why, but i like set 2 the best

so voted for that.. just something about that combo which looks great

i voted for 4, im loving the set as a whole, very fitting for an orc and id be all over that completely for my orc hunter if she was high enough to acquire them, i find also that the blue gem in the helm seems a little out of place in 3 but with other blue gems presented in the gloves and belt in 4, it makes that little tiny gem feel more like it belongs <3

Okay, thanks for the votes & opinions so far

I think I will get sets 2, 3 & 4, transmog each, see what I like to play as and go from there.

I have all of set 3 bar the belt and cloak, and all of set 4 bar the belt/gloves, and the bow, hat & chest from 2 (and the tabard ofc).

Anyway, a few of the pieces I want are in raids & dungeons, so it'll probably take a couple days to piece together, but here is where I'm at so far, working on set 3 first (as I said--still need belt/cloak):

For replacing the blue shoulders, Un'Goro Mantle matches great with the ICC 5 man armor that I see on some of your sets. Also Fury of the Raging Dragon and other similar models work great for a bone look if you want to try a gun.

I use them on my alt Ptay.

That is quite a nice shoulder piece, but unfortunately as Loremaster very few quest rewards are left to me : /

I'm looking at either the Skyshatter lookalike from BT or the Pauldrons of Surging Mana, which I always thought were rather ugly but which fit the blue set pretty well I think. I could possibly use the Grunt's shoulders as well. Getting the legs/feet is going to be aggravating at best, ditto the hands, but I can use the frost witch lookalike hands for now (Blizzard Keeper's Mitts or something).

I did actually keep that gun, and looked at it as well but I tend to prefer bows. It is such a gorgeous gun, though

Sorry to bump my own post, but I just HAD to post these images. Without green skin, and with a more feminine shape, the almost-finished set--that is, number 3 (missing the belt!)--looks... AMAZING. These screenshots were taken in the Well of Eternity.

So for anyone wanting a skeletal look for their hunter, check this out!

The chest in most of the pics is this one:

It's a level 80 epic bought in Dalaran for 1100 Justice Points, so it's easily obtainable. It looks MUCH nicer on female chars than males, imo--and ignore WoWhead's display pic for the item, as I think it's wrong (or was at least taken in terrible lighting).

Honestly, I like your current one the best

But it's good to change things up once in a while, and you'll always have the green one to go back to, so I didn't vote for you to keep it. For me, #3 seemed to have the best colour-matching and balance, though it's not as striking as your current one.

The chest is the mail one that drops out of OS I'm not sure if you need 3D to get it to drop. before that one I used the Valkyrie chest peice from the rare over in ice crown. Yeah I tired hard to make a set that screams troll hunter and that's the best i could come up with.

Looks like the chestpiece Been has is part of this matching set. It also comes in three other colors: green, yellow, and black/red.

I like set 4--the blue highlights on the belt and gloves give it a nice bit of color contrast, and play up the little blue gem in the choker.

I voted for set five, I think the colours work really well together, plus the animal skull on the head always strikes me as a hunter-esque look
