Bored MOP Tier Concept *Now with New Real Mail*

So I was a little bored and saw people speculating what our next "Stalker" tier would/could be based on another site.

There was discussion of what was already used (No sha stalker set, warlocks stole it ^.^) White tigers, etc.

and the top ones left were...Crane stalker (sorry but I lol'ed) Mantid Stalker, Saurok Stalker, and Mogu Stalker. etc.

So I decided I'd try and give Mantid Stalker a go...

Ooo, very nice! I'd certainly accept that; especially if it had the same neat texturing as the mantid tanks.

I really love that you've used a more realistic Asian armour style and then given it a mantid flavour, rather than the flashy but silly "rawr, I'm a man in a mantid suit!" approach.

I can see it'd have some cool recolours too, ranging from black to autumn shades of red-orange.


And I do like Kalli's idea of the turtle stalker simply because dragon turtles (at least the elite ones) have such beautiful engraved creases on their shells. That could look great on armour.

Yeah was trying to go with the whole "Chinese Hat" style/shape, but using something that looked like a Mantid tank carapace fragment/panel. And then to fit around the side of the head/jaw, mantid mouth/pincer things . I kinda did the antenna thing off the back after the full body drawing. I was hesitant about it a little as I did not want it to be too comical, but then thought why not, add a little bit of a "bug" flavor to it.

What else to you think would make a good ***** Stalker set for the next Tier?

I really like that! The helm is so creative, I'd say it's my favourite aspect.

Hmm...what about something similar to the Mogu architecture/Quilen? That swirly stone detailing, maybe a pair of quilen heads for the shoulders.

Crane Stalker could be interesting, especially since there are foxes with that very name in the game. Could go either way on the interpretation...

I'd like the quilen one as well. It could be more a final tier thing where the armour looks very fancy and imperial. Mogu style, as Veph put it.

The crane one Kalli suggested has really got my imagination too... something very slim and graceful. I wonder if a kind of loose cloth robe short sleeve look would work with mail, or not, with the rest of the pieces very slender.
