I've just looked through the list (without my main it can take a while), but I've managed to find a few pets that weren't there before. The info on them is as such:

Flavor Text: These snakes have been known to swallow gnomes in one gulp.

Location: Drop: Ji-Kun, Location: Throne Of Thunder
Flavor Text: Deadly offspring of the ancient mother, Ji-Kun Hatchlings are considered sacred treasures in many cultures.

Living Sandling
Type: Elemental
Location: Drop: Throne Of Thunder
Flavor Text: Born of sand, these dangerous creatures can form and disperse in the blink of an eye.

Mountain Panda

Flavor Text: Cousin to the snowy panda, Mountain Pandas reside in the lower regions of the Kun Lai summit.

Red Panda

Snowy Panda
Type: Humanoid (?)
Location: Quest: Beasts Of Fable
Flavor Text: The white fur of the Snowy Panda allows it to hide in the snowbanks of Kun Lai Summit.

Son Of Animus
Type: Mechanical
Location: Drop: Throne Of Thunder
Flavor Text: Forged in the Throne Of Thunder, these tiny creatures are servents (sic) of the great Dark Animus.

Spawn Of G'nathus
Type: Beast
Location: Drop: Zandalari Dinomancer, Location: Isle Of Giants
Flavor Text: Some Pandaren believe G'nathus to be an ancient Zandalari loa left behind to guard the waters south of Lei Shen's island citadel.

Spectral Porcupette
Type: Magic
Location: Quest: A Large Pile of Giant Dinosaur Bones; Zone: Isle Of Giants
Flavor Text: Something about this creature looks familiar...

Sunfur Panda
Type: Humanoid(?)
Location: Quest: Beasts Of Fable
Flavor Text: These cuddly rascals enjoy basking in the sun, sleeping in the sun, and napping in the sun.

Sunreaver Micro-Sentry
Type: Mechanical
Location: Drop: Sunreaver Construct; Zone: The Lightning Isle
Flavor Text: Loyal to the Sunreavers from creation, these pint-sized constructs can still pack a punch.

Swamp Croaker
Type: Aquatic
Location: Isle Of Lightning
Flavor Text: Probably best not to touch it.

Thundertail Flapper
Type: Elemental
Location: Pet Battle: Isle Of The Thunder King
Flavor Text: Touched by lightning, these dangerous rodents should be kept at a safe distance.

Zandalari Hatchling
Type: Beast
Location: Drop: Island Of Giants
Flavor Text: This unique raptor was born on the island of Zandalar and transported here along with the rest of the Zandalari army.

The sand elemental certainly intrigues me. I hope we see more of that in the future (I'd like to turn my shaman's earth elemental totem into a sand elemental!)

For the record, while I was on the Isle of the Thunder King, I had battle pets tracking on but never found anything. Of course I wouldnt expect the electro-beaver to be just wandering around willy nilly. Perhaps I missed it though.

A number of new pets can be found on the Isle of Lightning, including rare spawn drops, wild pets, and raid boss drops.

1. "A number" =/= 2 pets.
2. There are usually 5-8 unique wild pets to be found in each Pandaria Zone. Currently, we have one.
3. There will be raid boss drops from the new raid, and possibly BC raids as well. Currently, we have one.
4. There will be rare spawn pets, and currently we have none.

So don't give up yet! (I certainly haven't!)

My hopes of a mini-Dire Horn or Devilsaur or Pterrorwing may not go unfulfulled!

Agreed. I'm just being overly dramatic. I was so happy to get the Wooly White Rhino for 150k in trade to have my mount/pet/mini pet combo, I hope to do he same with my dire horn.

And I'm a Tauren... That's a lot of horns poking about. :-p

Technically, there's only 1 new pet on the isle atm and the patch notes states new PETS, so it's pretty obvious more are coming.

The raid boss pets will only be in Isle of the Thunder King. I'm not searching mumper's twitter, but a few weeks ago he stated 5.2 would only feature pets from the new raid, but 5.3 would bring more pets to old raids.

For rare spawn pets... where has that been confirmed? It's possible they took the feedback for the new pets in 5.1 and the MInfernal/scourged whelpling to heart and decided not to put rare spawn pets in 5.2.

I understand the rare spawns here as the legendary boss-pets we have to find and defeat to get that cute red panda cub chap. So far we have just one - a thunder beaver...

It's confirmed in the patch note I quoted. I must have worded it wrong... not "rare spawn pets," but "rare spawn drops," as the note says.
Battle pets with long spawn timers still count as wild pets... these are pets that drop from the elite rare spawns in the new zones. (Think Aqua Strider or Grinder)
