I mean the whole "Well, you can't tame this, so we'll make an NPC have the ability to have one as a pet instead"
"The arrogance of man is thinking that nature is in our control, and not the other way around."
Re: Isle of the Thunder King Rare Elites
I'm of opinion that getting Zandalari Tome of Dinomancy should let us tame all the things they could. Why would it teach us only the Dire Horns, if they can tame Pterrorwings as well?

I wasn't sure if I wanted a Pterrorwing pet at first, but now I do!

Re: Isle of the Thunder King Rare Elites
Imho, were they tameable, they could use that "on the ground" posture the whole time they're out. That would solve any wing-clipping problems and it looks much better than hovering right above the ground? (And less erratic because the pet wouldn't be flapping its wings constantly!)GormanGhaste wrote:I wasn't sure if I wanted a Pterrorwing pet at first, but now I do!
That would make this the first tameable mob that uses the skeleton originally created for protodrakes though. Or heck, I think it would be the first to use any that is shared with a flying mount? Seeing as the dragonhawk mount skeleton posture is slightly different than the pet one?
Edit: Oh wait, did I just completely ignore Nether Rays? Those use the same skeleton as the tameable ones?
Re: Isle of the Thunder King Rare Elites
Yeah, just keeping it on the ground would be a fine solution.
You could also give it the ability to switch if necessary via something like 'Trick' with nothing but aesthetic change in the form of being able to change from landed to flying.

Low blow Blizzard, really low blow. What? ZG/ZA trolls somehow have more of a grasp over Pterodactyls than normal mortals? bah.

I mean, when I made my first hunter in classic WoW, I levelled him up just so I could get a pterrordax, and to find out they were not tameable.
(I was a noob and didn't know of Petopia back then)
I'll be waiting on the highland, with its wonderful serenity.
Where the stars glow and the brooks flow, that's my way of life.
When the mountains on the highland, and the nature is surrounding me, when the wind blows, that's all I need.
