From what I saw they're removing Farstrider for SV and replacing it with Disengage, so we will have to chose between that, Posthaste and Trailblazer.

I still think that Posthaste for SV is really not as good as people think it is, since it requires a target, and said target needs to be 5 or more yards away from your hunter. Trailblazer so far makes me feel a lot more mobile, and it even works in combat (apparently Auto Attack doesn't remove it for some reasons). I can see Disengage work well on bosses where we need to run away to avoid an attack then rush back in.

It's going to be a hard choice for me between Trailblazer and Disengage, and I honestly love it that way. It's a lot more fun than looking at a talent row and go "This is the clear winner screw the other two!"

Disengage mobility and utility is king to me, and is one of the main reasons I can't play Survival. The ability to jump from any height and survive without conditions (outside hitting disengage in time) is critical to me. I use it too much. I might give SV another go if this makes it.

disengage will let you jump from any height and not die?

If you Disengage mid-jump on Live you'd receive the damage as if you fell from that point. So, if you Disengage like 2 feet from hitting the ground, you won't receive damage at all.

I use it all the time. Especially if you have a friend and a 2-seater mount - then you can pull it off with friend, too. When you disengage, they'll receive parachute.

At least I think that's what Quiv meant, unless Disengage will receive something else?

<3 <3 <3 to Blizz for listening on this! This is a huge QoL improvement for me.

Not enough to make me seriously play the spec, of course. But finally, the spec will start to feel more mobile.

Silly, but this was one of the biggest issues for me to be able to play SV. I know I'll never love it as much as ranged, but it was the lack of mobility and mechanics that stopped me in my tracks. To the point that I thought I'd start my alt as SV and picked up the quest. After I regretted it so much I've yet to level or touch as I really can't get into it comparatively to my ranged choices. I have a feeling this will certainly help.

I too also throw myself off cliffs with abandon due to disengage.... I honestly kept making such bloody stains when I kept forgetting SV didn't have :?

Yep, exactly! Plus I wasn't used to getting into fights I couldn't get out of. That's not how hunters work. We literally disengage with that skill.

I feel like this is an accurate representation of what my Hunter will look like using this talent:

Yep, exactly as Shelassa said. If you disengage before you hit the ground, you will take little to no damage.

You can try it on live, find a place you can jump from where you know you'll take damage but survive. Disengage before you hit the ground and you'll see how the damage adjusts. You can still take damage depending on how high you used disengage, so it takes a little learning to time it but it is so useful when you learn it. You have to be careful to not disengage into mobs though!

Heres my bad illustration of whats being referred to.

I also use disengage a lot to travel with using a jump, spin, disengage, spin back, land running. Granted without Post Haste it loses some of its usefulness but it can still be used to cover distances quickly.

So I have had a quick word to the developers, and we have come to the unanimous decision that the icon for disengage, will officially be changed to....

Considering that it routinely saves my ass (or kills it, depending), I approve of this message. :)

Just make sure that you have the Very Light Saber in your appearance menu, it's the only two-handed light saber in the game, and can be used to transmog over Talonclaw! 8-)

I also 1000% support that pet name!

The Goblin racial rocket boots also prevents fall damage if used just before you hit the ground.
