Patch Notes - 7.1.5 * PET RELEVANT *

Unread post by SpiritBinder »

Patch notes are out but just thought I'd pick out the ones that effect/pet relevant. One that I didn't know was coming and seems to have snuck in was...
Hati base movement speed increased by 14% in all forms.
Was this mentioned before and I missed it, or was it due to more recent feedback? And lol at 14%.... cause you know, 15% was way to OP

Beast Mastery (Pets)
  • The damage done by most Beast Mastery spells has been increased by 9%.
Aspect of the Beast ferocity damage increased by 100% and tenacity damage reduction increased from 15% to 30%.
Blink Strikes damage bonus increased to 100% (was 50%).
Dire Frenzy cooldown reduced to 12 seconds (was 15 seconds).
Hati base movement speed increased by 14% in all forms.
One with the Pack chance bonus increased to 30% (was 15%).
    Stampede damage increased by 15%.

Wasn't there nerfs to key legendaries that BM used? I think the Aspect wrists and BW belt. I wonder if those buffs are to offset that?

(Beast Mastery) The Apex Predator's Claw: Your pet gains the passive abilities of all pet specializations and deals 5% (was 10%) increased damage.
(Beast Mastery/Survival) Call of the Wild: Reduces the cooldown of all Aspects by 35% (was 50%).

To be fair, all the top legendaries were nerfed. Not that it doesn't bum me out...

but I'm glad to see some buffs to BM regardless.

*gets all happy about the buffs*

*sees her favorite legendary is getting nerfed*

Well, that's depressing; that's the one that made BM feel really playable. 35% is still good, but now the cooldowns won't be nice, even numbers.

Muffinus mentioned via a tweet that Hati was going to get fixed.

So if you want pups from Hati, now's the time?

A bit of palindromic wisdom:
"Step on no pets!"
Casual player.. don't raid, don't PvP. Suffer from extreme altitis
I love pets - combat or non.

That will help some. Although if Hati had the same Dash that ferocity pets have, that would help better. Incidentally, 14% is approximately 1/7, so if you're obsessive about numbers like me, you can pretend the 14% is actually 14.2857% (repeating, of course).

I'm going to have to get a lot of respec tomes, now that some of the talents will be better for single target.

I actually suggested that very thing. :)

Even if it was just with an active ferocity pet for matching purposes, I wouldn't mind.

Blink hits like a truck now but my pet keeps getting stuck, randomly. Also Hati's running back and forth is driving me nuts. :|

Hmm, I wonder if blink strikes is better than fury now? Fury is really good but then again blink strikes has a 100% uptime.

Edit: Apparently it is the best talent now, judging from people on the forums that have tested it out.

Yep, it definitely seems like Blink Strikes is the best choice now. I'm enjoying it! :)

Random Question, with blink strikes, in legion is the blink consumed/used on cooldown if the pet is already at the target/in range?

I remember it used to use it regardless... When I used to farm Oon in Warlords, and he actually still hurt, I would stand behind him to avoid frill blast. But if my pet had blinkstrikes, every time it was up he'd blink behind, turn him, and blow me up

I haven't noticed mobs changing facing with a tenacity pet, and I've had blinkstrikes the whole time. I'll pay more attention to blinkstrike CD.

edit: it doesn't appear to use blinkstrikes within a certain radius. And it looks like Dash has a higher priority, so if Dash takes it within the radius right after its cast, the pet won't blink.
edit2: From a standing start, that radius is 8. It's probably larger if your pet is moving because blizzard compensates for movement and lag etc.
